Result: 6-0
Scorers: Sam Gareh 2; Chris Anderson 2; James Ingleby-Jones, David Daly
MoM: Chris Anderson
Match Summary: A very strong Nomads Colts squad proved too much for Gresford in this end of season friendly. Gresford who are about to start 11-a-side next season, always looked second best to a keen Nomads team, trying to put a poor performance against Waverton A behind them. The Colts were first to the ball, made good tackles and passed to each other, all the things that they did not do last week!
The Colts enjoyed good possession early on and some nice passing moves, saw Jack Powell going close a couple of times.
Gresford appeared to be packing the midfield, but on a big wide pitch, the width of the Nomads begain to tell. Ben Johnson had an excellent first half wide on the right, and with Mark Breese playing well behind him, the Colts enjoyed quality football.
The first goal came fromJames Ingleby-Jones, who ran through to slot the ball passed an excellent Gresford goalkeeper, who previously saved well from Jack Powell. Good efforts from Alex Thomas and David Daly went just wide of their targets.
Just before half time the Colts dersevidly scored their second as David Daley was on hand to tap the ball home after fine work from Jack Powell again on the right.
Charlie Derbyshire had little to do in the Colts goal, but did look safe and secure with a couple of fine saves. The Colts defence looked much better this week, as Nathan and Jordan established their partnership of 2 seasons ago, letting Chris Anderson move into midfield.
The second half saw the Colts take total control as Sam Gareh smashed in the third goal, and the Gresford team looked beaten. Chris Anderson added two more on top of his powerful display in midfield. Chris and Jack look a good partnership in the middle, which allowed the wide players Sam Gareh, Hari Griffith and David Daley to put some really good passing moves into operation.
Sam Gareh added his second and the Colts sixth goal. The Colts had 2 more goals disallowed, by James and Jack, but the game was well over by this point.
Gresford did mount a bit of pressure in the final couple of minutes, forcing a corner and a goal mouth scramble, but where not able to creat a really clear cut effort today.
An enjoyable game, and a rematch looking likely in August, as Gresford look to 11-a-side every week, whilst the Colts prepare for their second season in the Chester and District Sunday league.

Match Summary: Chester Nomads Colts earned a well deserved 8-3 victory over a willing 10 man Waverton Bees side, in this final Group B game for the Deva Challenge.
In very warm conditions, praise to both teams who gave us an excellent game of football. The Colts making the extra man count had most of the ball and most of the game was played in the Waverton Bees half.
The Colts scored within the first few minutes as Jordan Massey managed to get a good touch to a cross and scored from close range. Jack Powell looked full of running and deserved to score the Colts second goal. The game was played at a fast pace, and The Waverton Bees defenders were doing their best to keep the Colts at bay. Just before the break Alex Thomas scored a lovely goal, beating one defender before a crisip shot found the back of the net. Half time 3-0 to the Colts.
The Colts change their players around for the second half, and was good to see defenders showing the forwards how to create chances, as the Waverton Goal was under great pressure.
Tom Rose looking really sharp up front scored one, and could have had 2 or 3 more. The Waverton goalkeeper George Thompson was in fine form and keept the score to 4-0. However, the pressure continued and Chris Anderson blasted in the 5th goal for the Colts.
Great credit to Waverton Bees who never gave in and from a good break managed to score their first goal. 5-1. MOM Ben Hanratty then scored a great goal, hitting the top corner with an excellent left foot shot. Then Waverton Bees had their best spell and scored two quick goals to make the score 6-3.
The Colts making the extra man and pressure tell, saw Jack Powell score his second, as The Waverton Goalkeeper saved 4 or 5 goal bound shots. With a few minutes to go Nathan Armstead scored an excellent goal from long range to make the score 8-3.
The Colts showed some good passing in this final Group game, and everyone played well in the heat. This squad is starting to look really strong and next season has great promise!

Match Details: (H) Chester Nomads U11 Colts v Vicars Cross
Result: 6-2
Scorers: Sam Gareh 2, Ben Johnson, Kayode Famoriyo, David Daly, Chris Anderson
MoM: Jack Powell
Match Summary: Chester Nomads Colts produced a fine 6-2 win against a competitive Vicars Cross side in the Deva Challenge Group B game.
Right from the start it was clear to see the Colts were up for the game and had Vicars Cross pinned in their own half for the first 15 minutes. Jack Powell was at the heart of everyting good about the Colts, and Sam Gareh playing at full back was having a fine game. The Colts created some nice chances but failed to make the pressure count.
Kayode Famoriyo was playing well up front on his own and nearly scored on a couple of occassions. The deadlock was finally broken after a scramble in the penalty area and Ben Johnson, who looked sharp and full of running, smashed the ball into the roof of the net 1-0 The Colts.
Five minutes later Kayode Famoriyo made it 2-0 with a well taken goal. Vicars Cross were trying to get back into the game, and looked dangerous on the break. Craig lawrence produced some excellent saves to keep it 2-0. Just before half time, Sam Gareh hit a fantastic shot from the edge of the penalty area, following a corner, and the ball hit the top corner 3-0 to the Colts and half time minutes away. The Colts defence looked in top form and Charlie Derbyshire, Mark Breese and Chris Anderson were playing really well.
The second half the Colts again had most of the quality ball and looke as though they would score on each attack. Vicars Cross also had a couple of chances, which Craig Lawrence saved well from or they went wide. Vicars Cross then scored a goal following a corner, when the Colts defence were flat footed and failed to react quickly enough. At 3-1 the next goal would be important, and thankfully it went to Sam Gareh again, his second from playing full back! At 4-1 the game was won, but give credit to Vicars Cross they then scored a supper goal direct from a free kick, to reduce the gap to 4-2.
The Colts were then awarded a penalty, but Kayode Famoriyo hit his kick wide of the post. This gave Vicars Cross some hope as the pressed forward again. However, the Colts looking dangerous scored a fine goal from David Daly, hitting his shot into the top corner of the net. Chris Anderson went close with a terrific header from a Jack Powell corner, and James Ingleby-Jones had a goal disallowed for hand ball, which was a bit harsh. The final goal was a screamer from Chris Anderson who found the top corner of the net from outside the penalt area, to ensure a 6-2 win for the Colts.
The Colts looked a well balanced a strong side today, playing with confidence and belief. Well played!

Match Details: (H) Chester Nomads U11 Colts v Boughton
Result: 1-5
Scorers: Kayode Famoriyo
MoM: Sam Ecroyd
Match Summary: Chester Nomad Colts were again beaten by an excellent Boughton side.
The Colts started very well and matched the Boughton side in the early stages. Although Boughton looked really good going forward, the Colts defence looked very solid and comfortable.
Little was seen of the Colts attacking, but never side created a good goal scoring opportunity.
Half way through the first half Boughton went ahead, and added a second 5 minutes later. Boughton took control as expected, but the Colts looked capable of scoring as Jack Powell went close hitting the bar from a long range effort.
The Colts defenders were playing well, Mark Breese, Ben Hanratty and Kayode Famoriyo were doing their best. Sam Ecroyd came on as a striker and looked full of energy and running.
Just before the break Boughton scored again and lead 3-0 at half time.
The second half saw Boughton have the slope advantage and had the Colts pinned in their own half for most of the half.
Kayode Famoriyo had moved to striker and was giving the Boughton defence something to think about. With 10 minutes to go, Kayode got his reward with a goal, hitting the post on its way in.
Just to enforce their quality Boughton scored a fifth, and forced Craig Lawrence into some fine saves, as his defenders stuck to their task.
Sam Ecroyd had dropped into defence and played really well, again never giving up and produced some fine tackles and blocks.
The Nomads know they will not play a better side than Boughton, and have to take some credit from the game as they held their own for the first 15 minutes, and managed to score against Boughton for the third meeting in a row.

MoM: Craig Lawrence
Match Summary: Both sets of players produced a really excellent game of football, in which the Colts narrowly lost 3-2 in afriendly, to a good Waverton side.
Both teams started well, and looked good going forward. Waverton had a few corners putting the Colts undr pressure, and very nearly scored from their first as the ball was cleared off the goal line.
The Colts settled well, and Jack Powell was involved in everything, and from his cross come shot wide on the right, he put the Colts into a 1-0 lead. Waverton battled back well, but the Colts looked comfortable. Jack Powell had 3 more efforts on goal, but he just could not get his second.
It took a special individual goal from a Waverton forward, who beat 3 Colts players before lashing his shot past Craig Lawrence who had no chance. The Colts heads dropped, and Waverton took advantage and scored a second just before the break to lead at half time 2-1.
Waverton had the wind advantage and started to put some pressure on the Colts defence. Mark Breeze, Charlie Derbyshire, Jordan Massey and Ben Hanratty we having excellent games and some last ditch defending kept the Waverton forwards at bay.
The Waverton defence did look uncomfortable when the Colts attacked, but the Colts just could not keep up the pressure.
Waverton deservidly scored a third goal, but this time the Colts kept battling away. Craig Lawrence produced 3 or 4 excellent saves to keep the Colts in the game. Then following a lovely passing move the Colts managed to get James Ingleby-Jones free inside the area, and he blasted his shot into the roof of the net 3-2...Game on!
Both teams had further chances to score, but it was Waverton who were gald to hear the final whistle, as they just about deserved the win, but credit to the Colts for giving Waverton Waspa a good game...not too much between these sides on todays showing.

Match Summary: The Colts played their part in an exciting U11 football game, coming from behind twice to earn a 3-3 draw, and only having 10 players.
The strong winds made for difficult conditions as both teams started well. The Colts with a player short made the early running and had a couple of shots at the Upton goal.
Ben Johnson was looking sharp and from a nice move by the Colts he found himself through on goal, and calmly slipped the ball passed the Upton Goalkeeper to give the Colts a 1-0 lead.
Upton had the extra player and the strong wind advantage, and were pushing for a goal themselves. Jordan Massey looked in fine form in defence, and Tom Rose was running everywhere trying to make up for the player short.
Upton did manage to score to get back into the game, although there was not much between the two sides. Five minutes from the break Upton managed to score again, as the Colts defence paid the penalty for not clearing their lines quickly enough. Half time 2-1 to Upton
The Colts now had the wind in their favour and Upton found it very difficult to get out of their own half. The midfield battle was being won by the Colts, and the equaliser was no surprise in coming. Sam Gareh hit a fantastic volly with his right foot from the edge of the penalty area...not bad for a left footer! 2-2 and the Nomads sensed a victory was in sight. Upton however, came back and again managed to squeese a goal to lead 3-2. Jack Powell and James Ingleby-Jones both had great chances to score, and Sam gareh was looking to add to his first goal.
The Colts continued to press, and Jack Powell hit a blaster which hit the post and rolled along the line, where Ben Johnson had a simple task of tapping it in (although the Referee appered to consider an offside decision, but did allow the goal)...3-3 That goal made Ben Johnson top scorer for the season...well done Ben!
The team that looked likely to win were the Colts, but they could not manage to get another clear opportunity. The game ended 3-3 with honours even.
The point pushes The Colts into joint 4th place in their firsts eason. Well done to the 16 squad players.

Match Summary: Both teams provided an excellent game of football in very windy conditions, and for the second week running the Nomads beat their Colts.
The Nomads started the game really well and had the wind in their favour. Some quick forward play gave them some opportunities to score, but the Colts defence stood firm with Mark Breeze and Sam Ecroyd having excellent games. Charlie Derbyshire was also playing very well in the Colts goal, as normal keeper Craig Lawrence hurst his hand in the warm up.
After 15 minutes the Colts started to impose themselves on the game and had the Nomads under pressure, and looked the more dangerous. Sam Gareh was doing well on the left, and James Ingleby-Jones was battling well up front. However, the Nomads scored the first goal and at half time lead 1-0.
The second half was again a close affair with the Colts having the wind advantage. The presSure was on the Nomads goal, but they did look very dangerous on the break. From one of the break aways they managed to get goal no.2 The game looked all over as the Nomads added a third to go 3-0 up, with the Colts still trying to get a deserved reply.
Sam Ecroyd was playing well, and Tom Rose was excellent in midfield with good support from james Ingleby-Jones and Alex Thomas. Elliot Bryrom has some nice touches also.
The Nomads hit the post and Charlie Derbyshire made some good saves. At the other end the Nomads goalkeeper looked safe, and was equal to all the Colts efforts.
With 5 minutes to go the Colts managed to score a much deserved goal, as good work from Sam Garreh, allowed Ben Johnson to finish from close range.
The Colts tried to get another and had a couple of good shots, but could not just manage to get the final touch to put the ball into the net.
Over the two games the Nomads proved to be the better side, but the Colts are not far behind, and with a little more luck and qquality up front couyld have made the games even closer!

Match Summary: In a the first meeting of the season, Chester Nomads gave their Colts a lesson in finishing today, as they scored 4 times from 5 or 6 chances, whilst the Colts only managed a single goal from 8 or 9 chances! Hopefully the lesson will be learnt...to score a player must hit the target at least!
The Colts started ever so well, and had a great chance within the first minute to open the scoring!
The early stages were being played mainly in the Nomads half, as both sides soon started to settle. Both teams appeared up for this "derby" game and the Colts were matching the Nomads from one penalty area to the other. The difference would be the quality of the players once they get sight of goal.
The Nomads were using their strengths and quick long balls were being played up to their two front forwards, who look an excellent pairing! Nomads just about edged a first half and managed to score 2 goals, although we would question one for offside! The Colts created a few good opportunities, but the Nomads goalkeeper was playing very well. Jack Powell sent in few quality corners, but the Colts just could not make contact. Apart from the two Nomads goals, Craig Lawrence in the Colts goal did not really have any more saves to make. HT 2-0 to the Nomads.
The second half saw the Colts creating even more chances, and Ben Johnson and Jack Powell raced clear only to shoot past the post. The Nomads goalkeeper again making some excellent stops and his closing down of the oncoming Colts forwards was excellent play.
From a goal mouth scramble the Nomads scored their best goal from the edge of the penalty area giving Craig no chance. At 3-0 the game looked to be lost, but Jack Powell scored a fantastic goal direct from a free kick, way out on the left touchline. The next goal could be interesting, as the Colts suddenly found some belief. However, it was not to be as Nomads had a tap in for number four! Craig Lawrence then produced the save of the match to keep the Nomads out.
The final score of 4-1 to the Nomads, does not do the Colts justice and on another day it could have been 4-4.............perhaps that other day will be next week in the return fixture!!
Well played both teams, a credit to Chester Nomads FC!

Match Summary: Unfortunately Vicars Cross had only 9 men, so this qucikly arranged friendly was now a 9-a-side game.
In lovely sunshine both sides looked comfortable when attacking, and the Colts put the Vicars Cross goal under early pressure. Tom Rose was having a good game, and Sam Gareh was making excellent runs up the left hand side of the pitch.
Vicars Cross also looked dangerous attacking, and their centre forward was keeping the Colts defence at full strectch. With 10 minutes played the Colts took a deserved lead, when following a corner their was a scramble in the penalty area and Jordan Massey managed to strike the ball home. 1-0 Colts. This inspired Vicars Cross who then had their best spell and had the Colts pinned in their own half. The equaliser came after 20 minutes with a good shot by the Vicars Cross player from just inside the penalty area. However, the Colts started to force the game again, and with 5 minutes to go before the break managed to get a 2nd goal from Tom Rose, after again a scramble inside the Vicars Cross area. On my watch we had played the 30 minutes, but the ref continued to play for another 3 minutes, and following a corner Vicars Cross managed to equalise again. Half-time 2-2.
The second half saw some excellent football, James Ingleby-Jones was playing well, and some nice passing with him and Sam Gareh was a joy to watch.Sam Ecroyd was having a solid game, and Ben Hanratty his usual excellent self at full back. Mark Breese was solid, giving nothing away. Craig Lawrence produced 2 excellent saves that kept the score 1-1. Kayode Famoriyo was again outstanding in defence, and Jordan Massey covered every bit of grass on the pitch! Alex Thomas tried his best up front, and did well in defence to keep the Vicars Cross attack at bay.
With 10 minutes to go Hari Griffith managed to weave his way into the penalty area, and slipped a fine shot past their goalkeeper to put the Colts into the lead for a third time.
With just 3 minutes to go, Vicars Cross scored again, although we thought 3 players were offside, the referee to our amazement gave the goal!
Overall a good work out for both teams, a 3-3 draw and it was good to play some football after no games for the last 2 weeks.

The Colts goals were shared amongst 9 players, with Sam Gareh getting 3, James Ingleby-Jones 2, Ben Johnson 2, and 1 each for Elliot Byrom, Alex Thomas, Tom Rose, Hari Griffith, Mark Breese and Jordan Massey
Considering the recent weather, the pitch at Bought Cricket Club was in excellent condition.
The Colts started well and some nice passing on the left with Sam Gareh showing early form they looked dangerous on the attack.
The Whitby defence playing offside, were finding it tough to keep the Colts at bay, as Charlie Derbyshire was blocked at the last moment on a couple of Colts attacks. However, the Whitby goalkeeper was also playing well and made some fine, brave saves to keep the half time score down to 6-0 to the Colts.
Whitby only had the bare 11 players so had no fresh players to choose from, but the Colts used their full squad and their players moved into different positions.
Whitby still playing off side tried to reduce the attempts on goal by the Colts, who on some occasions had 4 or 5 players waiting for the through ball. The Whitby goalkeeper, played even better in the second half, and they did well to keep the final score to 13-0.
Full credit to both teams, as the game was played in a good manner. Best wishes to Whitby for the rest of the season.
Hopefully the Colts will have gained a little of their lost confidence and look forward to the remaining 4 league games.

Result: 1-6

Match Summary: Castrol were worthy winners, as the Colts produced their worst display of the season! The Castrol team showed the Colts the art of goal scoring, in netting 6 from their 10 or so chances, whilst the Colts had 1 goal from their 6 or 7 opportunities. The Colts have lost their confidence, which has resulted in 11 players, just kicking the ball, rather than looking for their team mates and passing.
The Castrol team were very strong in midfield, and had pace up front. This combination had the Colts struggling to keep up. As soon as Castrol scored the first goal, most of the Colts players let their heads drop, and from running, they walked around the pitch feeling sorry for themselves. Dissappointing.......
The Half time score was 3-0.
Ben Johson's goal from a Jack Powell shot made the score 4-1, and behaps a slight hope of a come back, but Castrol broke away twice and scored twice more to finish 6-1 winners.
Looking for the positives in the game Kayode Famoriyo was excellent in the first half at the heart of the Colts defence. In the second half he played as a forward and kept the Castrol defence on their toes with some powerful running.
Charlie Derbyshire did well in goal as normal goalkeeper Craig Lawrence was injured. Jack Powell had a frustrating afternoon the harder he tried the worse things got, the harder he tried!
Sam Gareh, Ben Johnson, James Ingleby-Jones and Hari Griffith, showed some nice touches and clever passes, but not often enough, and not in an area to hurt Castrol.
The wheels have definately come off the Colts wagon, and only some outstanding teamwork and sticking together will see them through, especially next week as the local derby with our Nomads is on the agenda!

Match Summary: In lovely sunshine, both teams started well after the Xmas break. Waverton put early pressure on the Colts goal, but the Colts defence looked comfortable, with Jordan Massey covering well. Jack Powell was covering every blade of grass, and trying to get his team going.
Alex Thomas was playing well at full back, and Ben Johnson looked sharp on the right wing. Waverton without really creating too many chances, scored the first goal after 15 minutes, following poor defending by the Colts defence in failing to clear the ball.
The game suddenly changed with Waverton looking more like the quality team they are and the Colts took the goal hard and some heads dropped. The second Waverton goal just before the break was a great free kick from outside the area that gave Craig Lawrence no chance in the Colts goal. Half time 2-0 to Waverton.
The second half was only minutes old when Waverton were awarded a penalty, from which they made no mistake and went into a 3-0 lead. The Colts thankfully kept going and started to get into the game a bit more. They created good chances for James Ingleby-Jones, Hari Griffith and Jack Powell, but the ball would not run for them.
In defence Jordan Massey and Sam Ecroyd kept the Waverton attackers at bay, whilst Jack Powell tried his very best to get the Colts a goal. A series of corners put the Waverton goal under pressure, but today was not to be the Colts day!
The final whistle went and Waverton were worthy winners, but the Colts must take some positives from the game as they face Castrol in a key game next week.

Match Summary: An inform Chester Nomads Colts were well beaten by a very good Boughton team in the U11 Duke of Westminster Cup quarter final.
On a cold winters day, The Colts started brightly as straight from the kick off, Jack Powell nearly played Ben Johnson straight through, but the goalkeeper claimed the ball. But, Boughton showed just what a good team they have become and dominated the early stages as the Colts struggled to get the ball into their opponents half.
Boughton scored their first after 10 minutes and managed to get another 3 before the break. The Colts were reduced to the odd break away, but the goalkeeper in the Boughton goal looked in top form, saving well from a Jack Powell free kick. Half time 4-0 to Boughton.
The second half saw the Colts have their best spell. Ben Hanratty was playing well at full back, and Sam Gareh was having another good game. Kayode Famoriyo scored an excellent goal with a powerful shot into the bottom corner, this gave the Colts some confidence. The game was more end to end now and the Colts had a great chance to get another goal, as Kayode Famoriyo was fouled in the penalty area. However, Sam Gareh had his penalty well saved by the Boughton goalkeeper, which seemed to restore life into the Boughton team, who managed to score another two before the end.
Boughton look the best team in this competition and we wish them well in the semi final.
From the Colts performance, Ben Hanratty was outstanding at left back, and Charlie Derbyshire, and Sam Gareh also did well. Craig Lawrence in goal made some excellent saves and could not be faulted for the goals, which were of a high standard.
The Colts need to take credit for scoring again against Boughton, and look forward to the restart of the league fixtures against Waverton on January 6th.

Waverton looked really dangerous going forward, but the Colts defence was upto the task. The Colts were playing well and created some fine opportunities, especially through their left, were Sam Gareh was having a great game. The move of the game led to the first goal, as super passing between Elliot Bryrom, James Ingleby-Jones and Jack Powell gave Alex Thomas the chance to blast the ball past the Waverton goalkeeper. 1-0 to the Colts and fully deserved!
The second half saw an immediate strike by the Colts, following a Jack Powell corner, a goal mouth scramble and Sam Gareh smashing the ball into the Waverton net, 2-0 and only 29 minutes to go! Both sides looked determined to score the next goal and chances were being made as each side attacked with pace and purpose. From a corner Waverton pulled a goal back with a fine close range header. The Colts looked a little uneasy and Waverton sensed a come back was on the cards. However, the Colts managed to get a grip of the midfield with Jack Powell dominating and Ben Johnson's pace had the beating of the Waverton defence.
Following another Waverton attack the refere awarded a penalty to Waverton for hand ball. I felt the decision was a little unfair as the ball was hit at the defender, rather than he try to control the ball with his arm. But all was not lost as Craig Lawrence produced a fantastic save to keep the penalty out and the defence scramble the rebound away.Phew!
The referee played an extra 3 minutes, which seamed to last forever, but the Colts had Waverton pinned in their own half and they just could not get an attack going.
From a 6-0 defeat to a 2-1 win, shows how the Colts players have adjusted to 11-a-side football, and their confidence must be growing as they head towards a very difficult game against princess Villa next week! Well played the whole squad on a fully deserved victory!

Match Summary: Chester Nomads Colts played their part in an excellent football match. Playing against the league leaders who had not conceeded a goal all season was a big task. However, the Colts kept the Boghton attackers at arms length for most of the first half. Similar patten to the previous meeting between the two sides, as Boughton managed to score half way through the first half. The Colts had a couple of early chances, as Ben Johnson' speed was causing their defence some awkward moments. Already the 4 Colts defenders were outstanding, Kayode Famoriyo, Jordan Massey, Mark Breese and Ben Hanratty.
The only thing mising from the Colts at half time was the believe that they could actually go on a win this encounter!
The second half saw Boughton dominate most of the play, but the Colts were running themselves into the ground to keep them out. With 12 minutes to go,success! Following a slip by the Boughton goalkeeper, James Ingleby-Jones scored with a super left foot shot into the empty next, 1-1 and game on!
To give Boughton some credit they did not let this affect their game and they kept coming forward as the Colts began to tire. From a goal mouth scramble the Boughton forward was quickest to react and smashed an excellent goal to restore their lead. A body blow to the Colts who had their hearts set on the draw. Boughton managed to score another quality goal right at the end to win 3-1, and the Colts efforts earned them no points.
This was I believe the best the Colts have played and battled all season, we may have scored 26 goals in the last two games, but this 3-1 defeat pleased me more! Well done to each of the 14 players, if we continue to play with the same commitment for the rest of the season we will have done really well.

Match Summary: Chester Nomads Colts sparkled in their Duke of Westminster Cup match, against a hard working Waverton Hornets side.
The Colts totally dominated the game, scoring after 5 minutes, and leading 5-0 at the break. In the second half further fireworks from the Colts, who started to play some nice football, and scored another 7 goals to earn a well deserved 12-0 victory.
Jack Powell on his birthday scored 2, made a few more and won man of the match award. Well played Jack!
However, it must be said that, the whole Colts squad played as a team, especially in the second half, and everyone played their part in this cup win. After two big wins, lets hope confidence is high as we march towards Boughton next week!

Match Summary: After a 3 week break the Nomads Colts played some excellent football against a willing Whitby.
The Colts proved too strong in all areas,, and were winning 6-0 at the break. Eight further goals followed in the second half, which could have been much more except for some really good saves from the whitby goalkeeper.
In was nice to see the goals were spread amongst 8 players, as goal scoring has been a problem for the Colts this season. But well done to all the players as we look forward to a cup match next week.

Match Summary: A very entertaining game saw the Colts throw away a 2 goal lead to finish level as Casrtol scored am equaliser in the 2nd minute of added time!
The Colts were missing 3 squad players, including the 2 goalkeepers, so a well done to Ben Hanratty and Jordan Massey who shared the goalkeeping duties.
The game was played on a small pitch, in fact the pitch was used for the U10's 8-a-side last season! The first half saw both teams trying to get on top, and the Colts just edged a competitive first half. Ben Hanratty in the Colts goal did not have a save to make, and the Colts had a number of good opportunities to score. Finally Jack Powell broke the deadlock with a close range effort after fine defending by the Castrol players. The Colts defence looked well in control as Mark Breese, kayode Farmioyo and James Ingleby-Jones kept the attackers at bay. Hari Griffith was having a good game on the right wing and nearly scored with a fine dancing run. Jack Powell and Tom Rose were battling well in midfield and Ben Johnson again nearly managed to get free of the defence but could quite get a shot on target.
The second half was even more competitive, as both sides showed agreat desire to win. James
Ingleby-Jones was having a an excellent 2nd half, just infront of the defence as Jordan Massey had taken the gloves, and Ben Hanratty slotted into his more usual full back position. From another break away Jack Powell managed to score, as he picked up a fumbled save from their goalkeeper, nearly fell over, but managed to put the ball into the empty net for 2-0. Should have been game over, but full credit to the Castrol side who never gave up and managed to score following a goalmouth scramble. Only 10 minutes to go and the Colts did appear tired, as Castrol begain to sense another goal. I made the 30 minutes up, but the referee found another 2 minutes from somewhere, and Castrol scored in the dying seconds to earn them a share of the points.
A big dissappointment to a Colts side who had given everything to ensure they got back to winning ways, but it was not to be this week. Well played both sides.

Match Summary: For the second week running The Colts faced a quality team. However, they all had the right attitude and gave 100% effort.
The first half was a close affair, with Boughton having the lions share of the play, but The Colts stubbon defending was keeping the Boughton Forwards at arms length.
The Colts did look dangerous on the break, where the pace of Ben Johnson was always a threat. Unfortunately for the colts, Boughton managed to score with 15 minutes played. The Colts to their credit still defended well and limited Boughton to a couple of shots. Half-time 1-0 Boughton.
The second half saw Boughton dominate the game as the Colts begain to feel the pace of the game on another large pitch.
Charlie Derbyshire back in goal for the second half did some fine saves, and Ben Hanratty played well at left back.
Boughton scored 3 further goals and deserved their victory. The Colts played until the end and nearly maanged a couple of goal via a Jack Powell chance, and Edward Adams had a lovely chance right at the end, to score a goal the Colts deserved.
Some positives to take forward into our next game, and if we show the same commitment I am sure a favourable result will be earned and most welcome after 2 deafeats, to the best two teams in our league.

Match Summary: The Colts came against a very good Waverton side, in good from in front of goal. The first 20 minutes, the Colts held their own, and Waverton looked a little uncomfortable in defence.
However Waverton scored their first, after 21 minutes from good attacking football. The Colts tried to defend well, but just before the half time break Waverton added a 2nd.
The second half saw Waberton take command and the Colts were reduced to the occassional break-a-way.
Kayode Famoriyo was having an excellent game in the heart of the Colts defence, and Jack Powell was working hard in midfield.
James Ingleby-Jones and Jordan Massey also did well in defence, supported by Mark Breese.
Waverton added another 4 in the second half as tied legs begain to play a part, and were worthy winners.
The Colts will learn from this game, and it should spur them on to improve their own performances in the coming weeks.

Match Summary: The Colts played some exciting attacking football in difficult windy conditions, and deserved their 3-1 win.
With the wind in the first half, the Colts looked dangerous on each attack, and the Vicars Cross defence and Goalkeeper were stretched to keep them out.
The Colts were shhoting on sight, but most of their efforts went wide of the goal. Half way through the first half Ben Johnson scored the first goal of the game, which the Colts fully deserved. With 5 minutes to go befor half time, Jack Powell scored a wonderful goal, Jack looked up saw the goalkeepers position and hit a lovely delibrate high shot that the goalkeeper did well to gets his hands to but could not prevemnt the ball crossing the line. Half time 2-0 to the Colts.
The second half started very differently as Vicars Cross now with the wind. moved up a gear and had the Colts defence at full stretch. Kayode Farmiryo was outstanding and dominated the defensive line up.
The Colts still looked dangerous on the counter attack and Alex Thomas was finding lots of space down the right. Hari Griffiths was playing particulary well on the left wing, and had a couple of chances to score. Hari eventually scored a really good goal, cutting in from the left and giving their goalkeeper little chance to ensure the Colts took another 3 points.
An excellent team display, from players who looked more relaxed than in previous games. Well done.

Both teams provided a very close and exciting game, where the result could have gone either way. In a first half which saw both sides play some good football on a very large pitch, both goalkeepers looked in good form. Sam Ecroyd was outstanding in a compact Colts defence, with Jack Powell again covering every grade of grass.
The second half was just as exciting as end to end football was being produced. Princess Villa began to get on top and saw shots hit the bar and the post in quick succession. The break through eventually came with 15 minutes left as a super strike from a Princess Villa forward gave the Colts goalkeeper no chance.
The Colts then produced their best football of the game, and had Princess Villa defending really well. The goalkeeper again was having an excellent game. Shots from Alex Thomas, James Ingleby-Jones and Kayode Farmiyo all went close. However, the equaliser was not to be and the Colts lost their 100% record.

On a big Upton Pitch, the Colts played very well in the first half, and dominated against a keen Upton team.
After being caught offside a few times, the Colts finally broke the deadlock with a well taken goal from close range by Kayode Farmiyo. The second Colts goal was a spectular long range effort from Jack Powell, giving the Upton goalkeeper little chance.
Just before the break Charlie Derbyshire made ot 3-0, following up from a rebound after the Upton goal keeper had made a good save.
The second half was more open as both teams begain to feel the pace. Chances came at both ends, and Craig Lawrence in the Colts goal made some outstanding saves. However, from another Colts corner Jordan Massey, scored the fourth from close range.
It was nice to see Upton get a goal back with 5 minutes remaining. But overall a well deserved win for the Colts.

Lovely sunshine greeted both reams in the seasons opening fixture. The game was a very competitive, close affair with both sides determined to win.
The opening 15 minutes belonged to the Colts, and Vicars Cross found it difficult to get out of their own half. However, as the game passed the home team came more and more into the match. Both defences looked solid and well orgainsed, and although both sides had chances to score, they were limited.
With the clock ticking it looked as though both sides would have to settle for a point each, until Sam Gareh managed to break the deadlock with a fine left footed strike just inside their penalty area, on the left hand side. With 5 minutes to go, this was the decisive strike which allowed the Colts to go home with all 3 points. Perhaps a draw would have been a fair result, and the effort put in by Vicars Cross deserved more.
