Match Summary: In a repeat of last year's League Cup Final Nomads went into the game with two key players missing after both Jack Rogers and Cameron Clark broke their arms! That said, this did not make the players on the pitch any less determined to win this game which was a credit to all.
Nomads started the game brightly, taking the game to Villa but unfortunately it was the opposition who struck first. With their only real threat in the opening 10 minutes the Villa striker found himself in the box and was tripped in the struggle for the ball. Subsequent penalty was calmly dispatched. Nomads responded very well with captain Ethan Jones encouraging his troups with cries of "we've got ages left yet, come on Nomads!" We didn't need long and played some excellent football in the progress and after 23 minutes Callum Graham hit probaly his best goal ever as he unleashed a thunder bolt into the top corner. It then got even better as Nomads began a period of superb play which saw Leon Shirton test the keeper from a free kick and then moments later deliver a pin point cross to James Shaw who headed home for his 30th of the season. Just before half time Villa had a free kick outside the box that found its way in to leave the scores 2-2 at half time.
The second half was always going to be hard as Villa's strength in numbers allowed their players a brief rest but we didn't let up. 5 minutes in, a break through the middle saw their striker burst through and he hit a sweet shot that couldn't be saved, 2-3. Callum Ferguson saved a couple of close range efforts and even took one on the nose!. However, a loose ball wasn't dealt with and they pounced for the 4th. With still 15 to go we battled and pressed and I believed we could get the game back... just a goal would have given us the belief. A couple of half chances couldn't be converted and eventually Villa put the game beyond us with a 5th as the ball wasn't cleared in the midfield.
Even then, we showed what a good team we are and still with seconds to go we where trying to get something back. Josh, Felix, Ethan and Alex played very well as a unit at the back, all determined and holding out two very good strikers for most of the game; in midfield we had Tucker's tricky feet, Callum's superb running and passing, Leon's excellent crossing and Mitchell's powerful runs down the unfamiliar left; Up front Callum Evington and James Shaw gave us a lot of pace and skill and ensured the Villa defence were kept busy. Contributions also from Chad and Jordan in midfield added to our team's efforts at reversing our fourtune from last year but it wasn't to be.
Well dones lads, a great season and excellent progress. Next year holds a lot of promise for us.

Match Summary: Another terrific nights entertainment at The Garrison and this time a semi-final with the right result too. Nomads started playing with confidence right from the off and within 5 minutes we where rewarded when a confidently delivered cross from Leon Shirton was met with a measured header by Mitchell Mowatt.
Upton were being muscled out of the initial exchanges and we caught at sixes and sevens by Nomads creativity. After 10 minutes, Nomads doubled their lead when a fine Leon corner was glanced in by the in-form Alex Thornton at the near post. Two minutes later and a three goal cushion was in place as a Tucker shimmy and a cross to the far post was met by Leon's head for the third headed goal of the game. After setting up two goals it was a fine reward for Leon who had a superb first half.
You're always vulnerable when you've just scored and this proved the case again as Upton rallied and created an opening with swift accurate passing down the middle. Given too much room to shoot, Upton took
their chance well. Another 2 minutes of play saw Upton press and pull closer as they shot on the inside post. 3-2.... and only a quarter of the game gone! The game settled a little bit then as both defences looked more assured until just before the break Nomads created a lovely opening to allow Cameron the chance to smack the ball into the top corner which he gladly took.
A blistering opening to second half saw Nomads break through as Ethan showed his strength on the ball before passing the ball to James Shaw who was strong in the tackle to lay the ball off to Cameron to claim his second goal of the game. 5-2 up and the final in sight.....The next ten minutes showed a period of
defensive quality as neither side could break the other down. However, it was Upton who got the better of the last 10 minutes as they scored as the ball dropped at the near post and then finally brought the score closer with practically the last kick
of the game as we failed to get out following a corner.
We've witnessed some excellent football this year and tonight was no exception. Two quality sides showing plenty of skill and endeavour which is a joy to watch. As one of our lads suggested... perhaps we should start charging admission.... any ideas who that might have been Dianne?

Match Summary: What a game! If Carlsberg could retrospectively sponsor matches then they would surely pick this one as it was ....wait for it... probably the best junior football match in the world!
Chester Nomads entertained visitors Princes Villa who were fresh from recently winning the U12s league and not having been beaten in over 15 games...clearly a challenge.
Having lost the services of the excellent, Jack Rogers who broke his arm on
Thursday, Nomads started very brightly and played some sublime football in the process. The passing and movement that we've been working on in training clearly showing and causing all sorts of headaches for the Villa midfield and defence.
Defensively we were also excellent with the few shots that we allowed Villa to take superbly saved by Fergie.
The game was about 20 minutes old and not much to call between two quality sides when Cameron Clark dribbled into the box and as he weaved towards goal to take a shot he was brought down, penalty! The penalty was delayed as Cam was left hurt from the challenge having had the defender land on his arm and sadly he only played for another 30 seconds at the end of the game. Felix having scored 3 from 3 in training stepped up to take the penalty and gave the keeper no chance. 1-0 up and good for it too.
The second half brought much of the same high quality football from both sides but again in was Nomads who had the edge in front of goal. A good move saw Mitchell presented with an opportunity to extend our lead to two and he never shrugged his duty. The game was so nearly put beyond even Villa as James Shaw latched onto a through ball and narrowly put wide. But with 15 minutes to go, Villa won a free kick on the edge of the box and as it was chipped over the bounce beat us a they pulled one back. A nervy 10 minutes was on and Villa pushed forward as much as possible and
eventually were rewarded with an equaliser. 2-2 and into extra time.
Villa scored first and our heads dropped for about 20- seconds - devastated! Cries of Alf Ramsey from the '66 Final "we've won it once, now go out and do it again". Callum E saw the now forward Alex who controlled and passed in one touch to Leon who sent over a beautiful cross which was met by Mitch who once again gave the keeper no chance. This was simply a fantatstic game of football and a absolute credit to every lad that played a part. Sadly as the minutes ticked by towards penalties, Villa broke free to score the 7th and deciding goal of the game. Even then, we thought we could get it back and on we pushed but time eventually got the better of us as the ref blew the final whistle. An outstanding game and this time we didn't get our just rewards but we've now proven that we can play and live with the best out there. Bring on the next semi-final next week! Thanks for a great night lads, very very proud of you all.

Match Summary: Nomads brought their league campaign to a close with a comfotable win away at Rossway securing a very respectable third place in the process. An outstanding performance from Leon Shirton who provided the final ball each time for Mitch Mowatt to cooly claim his hattrick was added to by two goals from James Shaw and one each for James Tucker and Jack Rogers.
The clean sheet gives a clear indication of the strength of our defence these days, the pace and teamwork are improving all the time and provide the bedrock from which we can mount our attacks. Leon Shirton playing in an attacking right back position demonstrated some lovely skill and determination to set Mitch up three times. Mitchells cool finishes were a pleasure to watch.
Jack Rogers slammed a lovely shot into the roof of the net after another fine run.... James Tucker matched that with a fine run through the defence and as the ball came over the top he used the bounce to beat the advancing keeper. James Shaw was once again on target and needs just one for more for his 30 goal season.
A good performance and one that sets us up for our next two games, both semi-finals... can we make it a season to remember?

Result: 1-1

Match Summary: A fast and superbly competitive game was played out at The Garrison between two very good Chester sides. Upton started very brightly, causing problems throughout midfield and attack before Nomads settled more into their rhytym about 5 minutes into the first half.
Eight minutes in saw an excellent powerful run down the right by Mitch followed by a decent cross which was defended well by Upton; as the ball was played out Callum Evington anticipated well and immediately lobbed the ball back into the danger area. James Shaw was first to react as he used good strength to beat the keeper before tapping into an empty net.
They say you are always vulnerable most just after acoring and this was very true as Upton responded by placing a good ball through the middle for their striker to level the scores. More tense action followed as both teams fought well for the ball, Upton perhaps having the best of the rest of the first half. Ethan Jones commanding in defence ensured there was no way through and with the slim chances they did get, Fergie was more than capable in goal.
Second half saw Nomads look a bit more composed as the midfield began to play and in the last 15 minutes we became the more dominant team. Maizie runs down the left from Jack Rogers created a number of chances but we couldnt convert. Callum Graham had an thunderous volley rebound off the cross bar which denied us the three points but a draw was probably a fair result.
Top of the group and onwards to the semi-final of the League Cup - you couldn't really ask for more so well done lads, enjoy the week off and be back raring to go against Rossway on Tuesday 29th.

Match Summary: Nomads scored two first half goals with moves straight off the training ground this week in a cloe encounter at The Garrison. Creating plenty of angles and running off the ball Nomads caused Heygarth plenty of headaches as we carved the defence open twice inside 15 minutes. First goal was created by Rogers & Tucker as they weaved through the left side of attack, before Tucker's pin-point cross was met by James Shaw's head.
The second was a similar move down the left. this time the recipient of Tucker's pass was Jack Rogers who fired home with confidence.
The remainder of the game became a much closer battle with Nomads calling most of the shots. Some great runs across the park, Mitch, Callum G doing well when moving down the wings as well as a rock solid defence again.... a great achievment to keep a clean sheet.
All in all, an accoomplished performance which showed that we are developing every week and cannot be intimidated despite a few choice words here and there!

Match Summary: A comfortable win for the Chester Nomads against a under strength Neston side who never gave up. As a game it was almost over before KO as Neston only had 9 players available against a near full strength Chester team. An early goal by James Shaw started the goal scoring spree with Mitch adding the second shortly after.
James Shaw then scored another two to grab his hattrick and by scoring our fourth of the day he had the honour of scoring our 100th goal of the season. Leon Shirton scored with a lovely high cross-cum-shot and Cameron Clark who had supplied a few for Shaw scored the 6th from a Felix Morriss cross. 6-0 at half time.
The second half started a bit more slowly with Chester Nomads passing the ball around well and keeping to instruction to keep the ball on the ground in the blustery conditions. Cameron scored the opening goal of the half with a shot on the turn before Shaw socred his fourth. A superb run by James Tucker from the half way line, weaving past defenders with his shot slammed over the line by our poacher Shaw.
Callum Graham added the 10th with a nice shot from the outside of his boot before James Shaw sealed a memorable day with his 6th goal from another defence splitting pass from Cameron. James took the shot on the half volley which gave the keeper no chance.
All in all, the win was always ours but we were still pleased with the way we played in terms of passing and looking to create space. Well done lads.

Match Summary: A professional performance from an accomplished side, Nomads scored early to take immediate control of the game on the 3rd minute when Mitch chipped the ball over the defence for Callum Evington to run onto. The ball sat up and Callum used the momentum to lob the ball over the advancing keeper.
Rossway fought back but Nomads defence was again in excellent form, thwarting every attack and distributing the ball about well. On the stroke of 10 minutes the score was doubled as James Tucker performed a great step over before off-loading to Leon Shirton who then found Jack Rogers in space. Cutting in from the left, Jack unleashed a brilliant right foot shot into the top right of the goal proving the right leg isn't just for standing on!
The second half started much the same as the first as Nomads continued to press forward with some great interplay between the team. Fergie and laterly Callum E were solid in goal which gave a great foundation to build on. Midway through the half, Nomads showed their pace in attack as Jack slotted the ball past defenders for James Tucker to run onto. James' ran with the ball from the half way line with two defenders chasing before skipping past a third in the box and then thundering a shot past the keeper.
Two more goals followed, both tap-ins after some lovely play - firstly James Shaw was again in the right place at the right time and then Cameron Clark got his name on the score sheet after a solid performance.
All in all, a clean sheet was as rewarding as the five goals due to the commitment of our players to track back and never give up the chase. Well done lads.

Match Summary: A blistering start to the game and a James Shaw hat-trick ensured Chester Nomads a safe passage through to the Semi Finals of the KO cup. After just 50 seconds, Leon Shirton played a defence spillting ball through for James Shaw to run onto as he showed excellent technique shooting across the goal and beyond the keeper.
Within 4 minutes the tie was effectively sealed as a lovely cross from the right by Mitch was met by Shaw in plenty of space as he nodded home. Neston rallied to their credit but were thwarted each time going forward as Josh, Ethan and Felix were in outstanding form at the back.
Playing an attacking 3-5-2 formation, Chester had the bulk of play in both halves and, as instructed before the game, began to play some beautiful football. It was lovely to watch as we created good angles and moved the ball around quicker than we have done in previous games - well done lads. On 20 minutes, Shaw finished his hat-trick when he slotted into the net following a Mitch flick on.
The second half started in much the same way as the first finished with our defence composed and extremely efficient; midfield running the show and the forwards finishing in style. After just 3 minutes, a Chad Williams chip over the top was met by Cameron Clark who spotted Callum Evington's run and he didn't give the keeper a chance as we scored our fourth.
Two more goals followed, one by Mitchell who followed in on a good early shot by Jack Rogers and another by Jack himself as he called for the ball from James Tucker before slamming the bal into the roof of the net. A very good performance, gave nothing away all day and made some superb diagonal runs to create good space. Putting our training into practice - brilliant!

Match Summary: Nomads do double over Port. A polished performance from Chester Nomads put them back in control of their own destiny thanks to a superb second half against a strong Ellesmere Port side. A win in the final game of the season against Rossway will see Nomads finish in a very creditable third place.
A tight first half saw Nomads create most of the play but without looking too threatening in front of goal. Our back four kept out everything that Port had to offer and gave great protection to keeper Fergie.
Half time team talk focused on keep playing the football but to shift the ball out wide rather than go down the middle as we were finding little room amongst the central defenders and midfielders. However, once we did start to get the ball out to Jack and Mitchell things began to happen. A number of chances came our way and eventually an early shot from Clark saw the ball bounce back kindly to Mitch who chipped over the diving keeper.
A few minutes later we extended our lead when James Tucker was cooley slotted into the near post following a good strong run. Two nil and looking good for it. Again our defence were superb; Ethan Jones shepherding everything to saferty and Alex Thornton playing with confidence, meeting every ball and tackle cleanly and with conviction deserved his MOM award.
With a few minutes left we put the game beyond any doubt as their keeper paried a shot and Cameron Clark was in the right place to tap home. Well done lads, superb performance.

Match Summary: A very disappointing result from a game that we should have had at the very least a point. The game was decided in the first half as Nomads playing against a strong wind failed to capitalise on chances in front of goal and conceded three. Two goals were against the run of play despite the wind, as Heygarth sent balls over the top which we didn't deal with and the third from not concentrating.
A fine strike by Cameron to get what turned out to be a consolation goal but it could have been such a different story. We had countless opportunities around the edge of the box when all we needed was any player to take a chance, shoot and test the keeper. What we did instead was try and walk the ball over the line. This allowed Heygarth to pretty much put 10 men behind the ball to protect their half time lead which they did well.
The lesson from this one has to be that we need to be quicker in trying to get a shot at goal; we play lovely football across the field but occassionally we need to be more focused in our objective of getting that shot at goal. Too many times, we wanted one pass, one dribble, one touch too many and where closed down or tacked before releasing/shooting.
Heads up, big game next week and the way the weekend results went means we still have a great chance of finishing high up in the table.

Match Summary: It's a measure of quite astounding progress when we come
away slightly disappointed from a
game against second-placed Wirral
Eagles with a draw. On quite
possibly the most difficult pitch we'll ever play on Nomads took the game to Eagles in the first half and fought so well in the second I thought we'd done enough to take the points.
Kicking off with the wind behind us and facing the slope where the pitch
dropped a level or two we had all of the play in the opening 15 minutes. The deadlock was finally broken on 17 minutes when a through ball from Tucker allowed Shaw to slide the ball past the advancing keeper.
On one of the few Eagles attacks during this half a good defence splitting ball allowed their forward a free shot- Callum Evington
stood up well and got two hands to it but the pace of the ball took it over the line. However, we kept going forward with purpose and and almost identical goal to the first followed as this time Jack Rogers pushed the ball through for Shaw to dispatch for his brace.
As we turned around to climb up the hill, it wasn't a matter of which stud would be best but whether we could get the climbing boots on quick enough! Nomads created a few chances but it was mainly played in our half due to the wind and hill. Asked before the game to run that bit faster and further, jump that bit higher and tackle that bit harder we really gave Eagles a battle to remember. Fergie pulled off two World-Class saves both diving to his right and showing superb agility. For those saves alone, he deserved a clean sheet in this half but with 3 minutes to go a free kick on the edge of the box was chipped in a deflected into the corner.
A win would have put us in with an excellent chance of finishing second, the draw means its still possible but we'll need a few results to go our way.... you never know. That said, you couldn't ask for more of a group of lads who are developing into a great footballing team and where-ever we finish I for one will be very proud of how we have equipped ourselves this year.

Match Summary: Chester win Nomads Battle. The pitch was a bit firm from the overnight frost, KO was delayed to give the pitch chance to thaw a bit more but once we started we began to play some lovely football. Difficult at times to keep our feet and control from the bobbles, Chester Nomads had the bulk of possession and territory but resolute defending from Neston made it very difficult to score.
It took a full twenty minutes before the deadlock was broken. A great early ball down the left saw Jack Rogers and James Tucker combine well, the cross reached Mitch Mowatt who calmly layed the ball off for Felix Morriss to score his first Nomads goal with a superb lob over the keeper. The next ten minutes saw Chester Nomads camp out in Neston's half winning many corners in the process. On 24 minutes, Mitch took an in-swinging corner which Felix flicked on for a goal that has been given to Jack Rogers by the dubious goals committee!
A good first half but a better second was to follow. James Tucker was in out-standing form, superb runs with the ball causing all sorts of problems and deserved his MOM award. Just 6 minutes in he started from the right, tooks players on til he arrived in the centre.... despite losing his balance he managed to scoop the ball to Callum Graham who lifted a great shot into the right top corner giving the keeper no chance.
Defensively sound even though not under as much pressure as we have been. Ethan was commanding and never wanted to concede an inch to the Neston forwards. Felix played like a man freed as he purposely moved along the right flank as well as threading some passed along the line to Mitch.
With five minutes left, another Chester corner saw Leon fire from the edge of the box - his shot hit the cross bar but was nodded home by 'The Poacher', James Shaw. Lovely football today boys, well done.

Match Summary: Nomads draw in thrilling battle at The Dale Camp.
Chester Nomads started much the brighter in the opening 20 minutes in this thrilling encounter, looking like they had extra players all over the pitch. The deadlock was broken by Jack Rogers and a typical maisy run along the left touchline left three defenders stranded; he then let fly a shot from an acute angle which hit the inside of the far post - superb!
Great play from the midfield quartet of Shirton, Mowatt, Tucker and Rogers enabled Nomads to string together enough chances to go into the half with a commanding lead. However, a little unusual hesitancy in front of goal meant that we didn't really get the rewards for our superb build up play. On 20 minutes, Leon 'took one for the cause' and had to be carried off - fortunately he's been checked out and is ok. Minutes later a chipped ball over our defence was met on the half volley by Upton's forward and he gave Callum no chance.
The second half saw Upton come back stronger and they had us on the ropes for quite a while and eventually their pressure paide off. A lack of clear communication at the back caused us to stop briefly which was enough for Upton to take the lead.
The good news is that not a head dropped despite now being down to the bare eleven... it's amazing how quickly a big squad can looked depleted.
On 25 minutes Tucker bobbed and weaved on the edge of the box and was fouled. The resulting free kick was chipped over by Clark and as it found its way to the back post Tucker was there to stab it home for a good point against a very good Upton side. Well done to both teams - a great game to watch.

Match Summary: NOMADS DO DOUBLE OVER NEW SCENE. Chester Nomads U12s saw off Christleton New Scene for the second time this season to leap over them into 3rd place in the league. A comfortable first half saw Nomads have full control of the game going in 3-0 with goals from Callum Graham (2) and Cameron Clark. A controlled and disciplined second half against a strong wind gave us another Clark goal and a deserved 4-1 win.
CNS won the toss and chose to play against the wind thinking perhaps they would soak up the pressure and take the game in the second half but that just wasn;t the case. From the start Nomadss looked much the better team with crisp passing, closing down and tracking back. On every attack we looked threatening and on the stroke of 15 minutes we got our rewards when a corner bobbled in the area and Callum G was on hand to stab home. From there it was plain sailing for the first half as we won the important central midfield battle with Cal G and James Tucker in great form and Chad slotting in very comfortably too. Two more followed and Nomads seemed to have won the game already.
As we turned round we expected CNS to use the strong wind and press us back but it never really came as defensively we were rock solid. Josh, Ethan, Felix, Leon, Sam and Alex trading places but always resolute which ever four were in position. It wasn't a game for wide players but Mitch and Jack did very well moving forward purposely and also defending well. Up front the combination of pace and guile between Cameron, Callum Evington and James Shaw was simply too good on the day. James Shaw could have made it five but his shot from a great run hit the post. And finallly in the nets, Callum Ferguson was the foundation of our game. Always solid he was also quick to pick up and through ball played into his area.
Great game played in very difficult conditions and a fantastic result.

A game that Nomads controlled from the off but found it difficult to break down the Rossway defence. Good movement and passing was evident without applying the finishing touch until the ball was lobbed over the keeper. The ball hit the post but Tucker followed up well and slammed it back in. Within 3 minutes a great cross from Mitch was controlled by Lewis who then drilled the ball into the left hand corner. 2-0 at half time and going well.
Second half began with Nomads making good use of the space, drawing Rossway out wide to give us more room to play and after just 2 minutes Jack stormed down the left, drew the keeper out and tucked it neatly past him on the inside post. 5 minutes later a brilliant run down the right from full back position saw Ethan at the edge of the box - cries of 'shoot' were listened to as he unlesahed a fierce shot into the roof of the net.
More goals followed from Jack and a delightful chip from Lewis following Callum E's back heel and Mitchell produced some nimble feet to score the seventh. Must mention also Fergie's superb finger tip save onto the post to ensure our third clean sheet of the season.
The boys are now adapting very well as we change formations and positions. As they know, they can't always be in their favoured positions, but I'm really plesed with the way they adapt to the task or tasks assigned on the day , well done lads.
Happy Christmas everyone. Thanks for all your support this year, it has been terrific!

Result: 6-1
Scorers: James Shaw (3), Jack Rogers (2), Cameron Clark (1)
MoM: James Shaw
Match Summary: Nomads shine brighter than Dynamos. A scintillating first half display by Chester Nomads earnt the points in this well fought local derby. Cameron Clark opened the scoring, a James Shaw hattrick plus two from the outstanding Jack Rogers was enough to put the game well beyond Vicars Cross.
Determined to get last weeks lethargic display forgotten Nomads started very brightly and showed grit and determination as well as some outstanding creative teamwork to open the scoring within 5 minutes. Excellent runs down both flanks eventually saw the ball fall to Clarky who slotted home after his first effort was parried by the keeper.
Minutes later, Cal G was unlucky as he hit the post. Our defence looked solid and never gave an inch in the first half. A lovely through ball from James Shaw to Jack Rogers who somehow kept his feet despite some strong challenges to fire an unstoppable shot inside the keeper. Two more goals followed, one for Shaw and Mitchell's looping cross was met by Jack to tap into an empty net. A great tackle in our area from James Tucker denied VC a good chance but left him needing a well earnt break.
Second half wasn't quite so impressive as we experimented with players in different positions which did disrupt our flow a bit but credit to Dynamos who came out very strongly and they got a deserved goal from a lengthy period of posession. A great save by Fergie also saw him temporarily limp off to be replaced by Callum E who was instantly required to tip a shot around the post - both great saves. Tucker and Fergie came back on as Callum E went back up front and looked very useful. A through ball sent James Shaw in for his second, before Callum E was fast and strong down the left, got to the by-line to chip a lovely ball from James to head in for his hat trick.
Well done lads, a great response to last week and another chance to improve again next week!

Match Summary: The Wheels fell off, the bubble burst, a bridge too far - you name the cliche but they all fit.!
A disappointing result but more importantly a disappointing display in the first half when we simply didn't compete at the same level as Villa. After 5 convincing wins on the trot did we think we could make it six? I don't know. Despite the team talk of they're no different from us, we went into the game not believing that and allowed Villa to assume control. Too many times we let them through 1-on-1 with the keeper and against quality opposition you cannot do that.
Callum G grab a good goal which showed a glimpse of what we can achieve but sadly it was only a glimpse and not the start of our show. A much improved second half saw us challenge much more convincingly for the ball but we had a mountain to climb (and I'm not referring to playing up the hill !). A determined and committed performance from James Tucker in midfield earned him MOM today.
As said at the end of the game, lets not forget how far we've come and how much we have improved lately but this was a bit of a wake up call that there is still more we can do. With the quality we have in the squad I've no doubt we can do it.... we just need to want to do it.
Maybe the missed fixture last week didn't do us any favours but we need to move onto next week with the right approach. keep going boys!

Result: 1-0
Scorers: Lewis Donovan
MoM: The Team
Match Summary: NOMADS SINK ROVERS AT THE PORT. For the second successive week Nomads were pitched against the top of the league side and once again came out worthy winners against Ellesmere Port Rovers. A fantastic team performance, in tough windy conditions, and a solitary goal from the outstanding Lewis Donovan was enough to earn Nomads the points.
Nomads started very brightly and showed great passing and movement when in possession as well as closing down well before Rovers had chance to prepare any attack. Largely untroubled in the first half, Callum Ferguson ensured his defence were solid as we began to find our pace. Lewis was finding good space down the left and was terrorising the Rovers defence but it was from a strong Mitch run down the right and a lovely pin point cross that Lewis calmly slotted into the net for the games only goal on 19 minutes.
The squad is now looking so strong in every area, as players come off for a rest there's no rest for the opposition as the fresh players set out to make their mark on the game. I remember watching Sir Alex sub Lee Sharpe for Ryan Giggs once and thinking that it wasn't fair... surely the opposing right back deserved a break... and that's what its like for Nomads.!
Once again no individual MOM was awarded as every player is contributing so much to the team performance. The hard work that we've been putting int training is paying off now with 5 wins from the last 5 matches, scoring 28 goals and perhaps most importantly conceding only 5. Two clean sheets on the bounce too!
Well done lads, I know each and every one of our supporters is incredibly impressed and proud of what you are achieving.

Match Details: (H) Chester Nomads U12s v Christleton New Scene
Result: 3-0
Scorers: James Tucker, Jack Rogers, Cameron Clark
MoM: The Team
Match Summary: Nomads leave Scene with win. Chester Nomads were in outstanding form today and beat current league leaders scoring three superb goals without reply. Nomads are now starting to play some of the best football seen at this level and it is a real joy to watch the boys begin to fulfil their potential.
Despite a shaky first 6 minutes, Nomads clawed back to get an even hold of the game. The last 20 minutes of the first half saw Nomads camp out in New Scene's half. Thwarting every CNS break forward before they got out of the half we kept putting pressure on the keeper with a volley of shots. Stunning play down the left from Jack,
pushed the ball to Lewis who threaded a ball to give James Tucker an opportunity to strike a sweet left foot volley into the roof of the net.
Our defensive duties in this half and indeed the game were brilliant, never once letting CNS have a clear opportunity on goal. Callum Evington was always in the right place but will admit he was never really troubled! Felix and Ethan dominated the centre, with Josh and Leon great at full back position. Callum G played an important role in the middle stopping many of the attacks before they got into the danger area.
CNS came out strong in the second half but Nomads were ready and were more than a match for them. Lewis was peppering the goal with fine shots, Shaw was strong down the right and Jack eventually got a very deserved goal from the left, a lovely high shot which gave the keeper no chance.
We didn't stop there either. Although the main objective now was to keep a clean sheet we managed to show our fitness levels were much improved and still pressed forward. Cameron finally put the game beyond doubt after a fine solo front running display when he wriggled to find room for a great left foot shot. Mitch went close on more than one occasion as did a number of other before the ref blew the whistle on a very fine performance and win.

Match Summary: The Bakers Dozen. Chester won the battle of the Nomads quite convicingly in the end against a spirited Neston side who never gave up. Goals from as ealy as the first minute kept Chester Nomads in control as they played some terrific football and made great use of the space afforded to them. James Shaw'S hatrick and Felix Morriss' command of the defence saw them earn a share of the MOM award.
Within seconds of the kick off Chester sent out a clear message that they meant business today. Ethan burst through he defence, called for a short pass from Cam and then unleashed a great shot into the bottom left. Neston responded well 7 minutes later when their striker latched onto a goof through ball to slot past Fergie who had no chance. The next twenty minutes saw us score 6 more without reply to put the game beyond reach. A couple of stunning goals from Cameron and Mitchell (2) added to another copycat goal from Ethan, a scrambled one from Jack, and a great strong run through by James Shaw. With 2 minutes to go we had a quick nap whilst Neston scored before responding immediately with a cross from Mitch and finish by Shaw,
In the second half we mixed the team up a bit with Alex now playing centre forward and linking up play well with midfield. Goals in this half saw hattricks come fist for Shaw, then Mitch and finally Cameron. In between Leon scored from a counter attack as Josh won the ball, Fergie's bg kick was won by Shaw, quick passing to Alex and Leon made certain with a clean strike.
Excellent performance boys, consistency is coming. We now start a run of tough games, playing three of the top four in the next four matches!

Match Summary: A stunning display from an inform and upbeat Chester Nomads side as they dominated in every area of the pitch. Passing was crisp and our speed on the attack was awesome, defending was resolute and extremely well organised. Hard to pick out anyone really from this fantastic performance but Ethan just edged it as he marshalled the defence in the first half and the midfield in the second.
Much has been said recently about needing to show some consistency and begin to break the hold that the top 4 teams had on us. We did both today in some style. Despite Tucker Snr showing some early tantrums about the lack of support received for net duty he soon focused the team on the games tactics.
A good encounter started with Nomads getting plenty of possession and territory without being able to break the deadlock. After 20 minutes, fresh legs and the pace of Mitch and Callum E were introduced to lightening effect. Mitch broke down the right to cross for Callum E to prod home 1-0 and looking good. Five minutes later and James Tucker found himself free at the back post - [incorrect] shouts of offside made everyone stop briefly but Tucker was first to react and slam home after the keeper saved his first effot. 2-0 at half time.
The game was there for the taking and despite an early Eagles goal in the second period, we never looked like conceding. The defence all game played extemely well by closing down and denying shooting opportunities. Ably assisted by midfield when Eagles did manage a shot, Fergie was well positioned and in full control.
After 15 minutes, Cameron found space on the right inside the area, turned and unleashed a fierce, unstoppable shot to restore our 2 goal lead. James Shaw grab a clever goal with 10 to go by lobbing the on-rushing keeper. Everyone played superbly today... just shows what we can do with the right attitude and approach. Well done to everyone!

Match Summary: Nomads produce one of their best performances today to beat a well organised Upton side by six goals to one. From the start, Nomads took control of every part of the pitch and in the end were worthy winners of a good contest.
In the first half we began by calmly and crisply passing the ball about from defence through midfield to set up our strikers. After only 12 minutes we broke the deadlock when Lewis played keepy-upy in the Upton box, lobbed the ball over the keeper for James Shaw to nod home. Impressive! After 19 mins we made what became the only mistake of the day, not closing down and taking a couple of chances to clear, Upton hit a fierce shot which bounced just before Callum's diving, outstretched arms for an eqauliser. It didn't take long for us to resume control and it was only a matter of time before we scored again. Callum E pulled off a fine save from the only other shot to trouble us today.
Cameron had a shot on 28 mins which the keeper did well to save but a minute later he was helpless as Leon whipped in a good cross for Shaw to grab his brace. Half-time lead of 2-1.
Coaches were impressed with the performance and encouraged more wide play to make better use of the space
we were getting - and five minutes into the restart Tucker cut in from wide left to slot the ball into the back of the net. 3-1 and looking good for our lead.
Some excellent defending and good distribution set us up for many an attack and finally we got another on 48 minutes, Leon supplied Callum G from the right and after a dtermined run he cooly slotted his shot into the corner. On 52, we extended our lead to 4 goals when Leon grabbed a desrved goal and finally Lewis got one too with some more clever tricks getting the better of the keeper at the near post. A great result but a brilliant team performance, MOM to every single player - superb! Can we bring this into our next game and start to show some consistency..... I hope so, well done lads.

Second half was a different story. We stopped closing down, we stopped passing and playing as a team and despite over advantage in numbers Eagles finished the stronger side. A very disappointing 30 minutes of football and a half not to be repeated again this season!

Match Summary: A terrific game of football played at The Garrison between two closely matched teams. First half saw a game played mainly in the middle third with neither side able to break through until the Falcons moved the ball swiftly from their left to right and unleashed a well struck shot across the goal to take a half time lead. Jack Rogers had a lovely run that could have earnt a penalty but not today.
In the second half, Nomads had much of the possession but on the big Pavillion pitch found it hard to get shots in past a resolute and deep defence. However, we did create chances and eventually Cam Clark found a bit of space to hit the top corner. Falcons responded with a breakway goal when Nomads were attacking, in the end a bit of a scramble and we found ourselves 2-1 down.
On we pressed, you could tell Falcons were hoping for an early whistle as wave after wave of attack was thwarted. Jack struck a lovely shot, Sam Jones impressed with some fine shots and Leon delievred a lovely cross that came close too. Not our day today, but as a team we have improved so much and as we start to gel we'll begin to win these close games more and more.
Well done boys, a good weekends football.

Match Summary: Nomads hit the Top 10! An outstanding team performance gave Nomads an emphatic win at Thackeray Drive today. Passion and skill was in abundance as Nomads closed down well and were blistering in attack. Hat-tricks for Cam Clark and Mitch Mowatt as well as braces for Leon Shirton and Callum Graham. Brilliant!
Nomads started off well and after 5 minutes Mitch hit the back of the net from Cams skillful pass through. Soon after Ethan had a cracking effort just over the bar. When 15 minutes had gone by vicars cross equalised. Nomads responded with a goal , Mitch's second, from a corner that went straight in. A bit of clever play saw Clarky on to the score sheet. Leons strong run with the finish made it 4-1. Clarky smashed another home from Leons flick. Just before half time Callum G got his first, after the ball bobbled in the area he hit the roof of the net.
What was particularly pleasing was the way that the team brought out the lessons learned in training recently. Closing down very well, doubling up and directing the play and when in possession we spread the ball about quickly.
Second half saw the team change a few times but we still held on firm and were fast into attack. Seconf half strikes from through balls gave Cameron his hat-trick and Cal G his second in quick succession. Fergie's huge kick gave Leon a chance to show skill and strengh to score before Ethan set up Mitch for his hat-trick with a super shot into the top corner.

Result: 3-6

Match Summary: Nomads showed they are capable of playing with the best in a game where the scoreline does not reflect the match. Nomads struck three excellent first half goals but gave Villa a chance each time to peg them back. New boys Cameron Clark and Jack Rogers fitted in well and grabbed a debut goal each and James Tucker added Nomads' third. MoM Callum Graham was as industrious as ever.
Nomads were up and ready for a
tough game today against a well
organised and skillful Princes Villa
side. Like the weather Nomads began
brightly with some good interchanges
of passing when, after just 4
minutes, Cameron let fly with his
right foot straight into the top
corner. A tense and frantic midfield
battle developed with little to call
between the sides and on 10 minutes
confusion reigned when Josh took a
throw in which Callum picked up the
'back pass' - top tip.... don't
listen to anyone else on the
sidelines except the coaches! A
quick free kick brought Villa back
in it and they then scored another
quickly as we were at sixes and
sevens.
Heads stayed up and within
minutes of coming on for his debut
Jack Rogers showed what a good
player he is as he drilled a lovely
left foot strike straight past the
keeper 2-2. Again though we let them
back in, an unfortunate clash of
head and post by Callum led to
Villa's third. We responded well
once again and continued to press
when James first had a wayward shot
with his right but when the ball
came back to him he made no mistake
with a left foot shot into the
bottom corner. Just before half time
of this thrilling encounter, Villa
got past our defence and despite
Callum E's quick reactions this time
the ball bounced favourably for the
forward who took their 4th of the
day.
Second half was a much tighter
game and we found it very difficult
to break down their defence to get a
shot on target despite never
stopping trying. As we pressed, a
ball was played through midfield and
defence for Villa to strike and get
a two goal cushion. Again we pressed
on but the next and final goal went
to Villa who played the better of
the second half.
All in all, a game of two halves
- the first should have been won by
Nomads which on another day we could
have found ourselves 3-1 up not 4-3
down... but hey.... good signs of
improvement were to be seen and if
we play like we did in that first
half especially we will be very hard
to contain. Keep happy boys, we do
this for fun and you have to say it
beats shopping (sorry Mums)!

What a game! Still showing signs of the summer break we let Village take a 3-0 lead within the first 10 minutes - they must have thought it was Christmas not Summer. A free kick won by Tucker's tricky feet was superbly fired into the net by Sam Jones' second of the season already. A few more lapses across the pitch saw Village scoring a total of 6 in the first half but Nomads replied with a stunning goal from the energetic Callum Graham and a good strikers poach from Mitch. Half time 3-6.
We knew that the lads wouldn't be quite as mentally and physically sharp as they can be which was why we arranged these friendlies rather than training. But, as with Saturday's game what was really pleasing was that the more the game went on, the better we looked. We might just have timed it right to start the season.
Ethan's return following his operation was a welcome sight and added a bite into the side. This allowed us to push Lewis forward and what a result that was. Twice he picked up a through ball on the halfway line and sped past the defenders and very coolly slotted the ball past the keeper. Another goal from Callum Graham and a good ducking header from James Shaw gave Nomads a 7-6 lead. Brilliant goal keeper by Callum Evington particularly in the second half when his defence we more organised (well done Alex) - Callum's handling of the high balls was fantastic. Josh at centre half/left back and Tucker left midfield did very well and every player gave 100% right to the end.
Village did grab one back to bring the score to 7 a piece which on reflection was a fair result from a thrilling encounter. Well done to both teams; great fixture.
