Match Summary: Playing 12 minutes each way on pitches of variable size and quality, Chester Nomads battled their way through to the final of the Blackpool Cup U13s 11-a-side tournament but were defeated 0-2 by Ridgeview Juniors, last years' runners-up, in the final. On the Saturday afternoon, Nomads began the campaign with a close 3-2 victory over Ridgeview; although leading 2-0 at half-time thanks to goals from Joe and Ryan, Nomads were stunned by two second-half goals from Ridgeview until a fine shot from Eddie secured a narrow win. Further points were secured with a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Lytham Juniors FC and a 1-1 draw against Everton Boys Club, thanks to a last-minute equaliser from Swifty. In the final game of the day, Nomads completely outclassed East Dumbartonshire Villa with a fine 8-1 victory thanks to a hat-trick from Swifty and goals from Joe, Ally, Eddie, Luke and Dale. Needing further victories on the Sunday afternoon to ensure a place in the final, Nomads secured a good 3-0 win over Castlemilk Colts thanks to goals from Benjy, Eddie and Luke, followed by a 2-0 victory over Croydon Juniors FC with goals from Luke and Joe. With one point needed to qualify for the final, Nomads battled out a 0-0 draw against Ayr Thistle in a close and hard-fought game. In the final itself, with aches, pains, bruises, blisters and tiredness clearly in evidence, Nomads struggled to find their normal fluency and a goal in each half was sufficient for Ridgeview to secure victory. A disappointing result perhaps, but a great achievement to finish runners-up nonetheless, and a great time was had by all. Well Done Boys! Keep Working Hard! Up the Nomads!

Match Summary: CUP WINNERS! Chester Nomads completed a fantastic league and cup double with a fine victory over a well-organised and hard-working Christleton New Scene side in an exciting and well-spirited Ellesmere Port JFL KO Cup Final played at Ellesmere Port. Both sides battled for dominance in an even first half and, shortly after Danny had made a brilliant save, it was New Scene who took an early lead with a well-worked opportunist goal. Eddie soon levelled the score with a neat close-range finish from Joe's cross and Benjy put Nomads ahead in a goalmouth scramble after Rowan's header had been parried by the keeper and rebounded off the bar. But New Scene were always dangerous on the break and shortly before half-time they equalised with a fine shot from the edge of the box. Nomads stepped up a gear in the second half, pushing the game upfield and playing with greater width, and gradually began to dominate the play with some good passing moves, although New Scene occasionally threatened on the break. Swifty soon put Nomads ahead, converting from close range after Joe's cross-shot had been parried by the New Scene keeper. Benjy added a fourth, with a great drive from just outside the box that flew into the net, and Swifty extended the lead further, running onto a fine pass from Calluml and firing home a powerful shot from just inside the box. With ten minutes left, Joe sealed an emphatic victory from the penalty spot after Callum had been brought down in the area. All in all a great team performance, particularly during the second half, and a fine way to cap an excellent season. Congratulations Boys and Well Done!! Up the Nomads!!

Match Summary: Chester Nomads produced an excellent team performance in outclassing a hard-working Hoylake side in an exciting Cup semi-final played in excellent conditions at the Garrison. Playing with plenty of width and determination, Nomads attacked from the start and, after several early chances had gone begging, took the lead midway through the first half when Joe converted from the penalty spot after Eddie had been tripped in the box. Hoylake were dangerous on the break and Danny made two fine saves to maintain Nomads' lead, but then Joe put Nomads further ahead with a fine header from Matty's excellent cross and shortly before half-time Rowan ran in from the right wing and beat the Hoylake keeper with a super cross-shot which flew into the top corner of the net to make the half-time score 3-0. Nomads continued to dominate throughout the second half and played some excellent football, with some of the best inter-passing seen at the Garrison this season. Swifty quickly put Nomads further ahead, converting Joe's cross from close range and then Joe latched onto a fine through ball from Matty to complete his hat-trick. Hoylake rarely threatened, but did force one magnificent save from Danny, who tipped the ball over the bar. With full-time looming, Swifty ran onto a neat pass from Luke on the edge of the box and planted a great shot into the corner of the net to complete a well-deserved victory for the Nomads. All in all, a fine all-round team performance in which everyone played their part. Now for the Final! Well Done Boys!! Keep Working Hard!! Up the Nomads!!

Match Summary: League Champions Chester Nomads concluded their fantastic league campaign with a draw against a combative Hoylake side at the Garrison. Nomads started brightly and exerted plenty of early pressure without creating any clear-cut chances until, after twenty minutes, Ally rose majestically to head home from Luke's left-wing corner to give Nomads a deserved lead. Nomads tried to sustain the pressure during the second half but this became difficult in view of constant interruptions of play due to infringements of the rules by the opposition, who had two players booked. But Hoylake were always dangerous on the break with their route-one football and it was from a corner resulting from a breakaway that they were able to grab an equaliser. Nomads tried to respond but were unable to create any clear chances, although they were offered the chance of a last-gasp winner three minutes from time when Ryan was fouled in the box, but Ally's penalty kick shaved the wrong side of the post. On the day Nomads battled hard in what was at times an intimidating atmosphere and were unlucky not to win. Well Done Boys! Keep Working Hard! Up the Nomads!

Match Summary: Chester Nomads eased to a comfortable League Cup victory over Neston Nomads with a good all-round team performance at Neston. After several promising attacks, Nomads took the lead midway through the first half when Ally's long ball found Eddie, who neatly lobbed the ball over the Neston keeper. Minutes later MOM Luke added a second with a cracking left-foot drive from the edge of the box and Eddie quickly added a third, firing home from Luke's cross. Then, on the stroke of half-time, Luke scored again with another cracking left-foot drive from the edge of the box after Joe's shot had rebounded off the post. Nomads continued to control the play with some good passing and movement in the second half and Eddie quickly completed his hat-trick with a close-range effort. Neston grabbed a consolation goal when Ally unluckily sliced the ball into the net, but Nomads continued to press foward and Eddie extended the lead, firing home from Luke's neat through ball, and, with full-time looming, Swifty notched Nomads' seventh goal, latching onto Benjy's cross from the left and firing home from close range. On the day, an emphatic victory. And special thanks to Swifty, Matty, Rowan and Ryan for sharing the goalkeeping duties in Danny's absence! Well Done Boys! Keep Working Hard! Up the Nomads!

Match Summary: CHAMPIONS!! League leaders Chester Nomads secured the Ellesmere Port Junior Football League U13s title in a thrilling and hard-fought- but sporting and well-spirited - top of the table match against Christleton New Scene played in good conditions, albeit on a bumpy pitch, at the Garrison. Nomads started brightly, playing the ball wide and stretching the New Scene defence, and Joe and Swifty went very close in the first ten minutes and were only denied by some great work by the New Scene goalie. But New Scene were always dangerous on the break and, slightly against the run of play, took the lead after twenty-five minutes when their right winger was allowed space to shoot under a diving Danny from close range. But Nomads responded immediately with an opportunist left-foot shot from close range by Joe after the ball had been deflected into his path. During the second half Nomads continued to press forward and created some good opportunities and Eddie, on several occasions, and Ryan, with a cross-shot which rebounded off the post, both went close. New Scene were always dangerous on the break and nearly took the lead 10 minutes from time with a shot which went narrowly wide, but Nomads continued to press forward, yet despite their general dominance of the play, were unable to clinch the winning goal. But a 1-1 draw was enough for Nomads to secure the title for the first time, a fantastic achievement, and also for New Scene to secure the runners-up spot. So Congratulations Boys! You Deserved It! And Congratulations to Coach Steve Parker! A Great Season! Well Done Danny, Rowan, Ally, Jack, Muzzy, Dale, Callum, Benjy, Matty, Luke, Eddie, Ryan, Joe and Swifty! You have all played your part in a winning team. And always remember that there is no 'I' in 'TEAM'. But Keep Working Hard! There are STILL Two More Trophies to Win!!

Match Summary: Chester Nomads eased to a comfortable League Cup victory over a hard-working Shore Villa side in cold and windy conditions at the Garrison. Nomads started well, passing the ball around nicely and consistently stretching the Villa defence, and only some fortuitous saves by the Villa keeper prevented Nomads from taking an early lead. Midway through the half, Joe put Nomads ahead with a close-range header from MOM Callum's excellent centre and then quickly added a second from Dale's incisive pass. Just before half-time, Benjy snatched Nomads' third, tapping home Matty's left-wing corner on the goal-line. Nomads continued to press forward throughout the second half and Joe quickly completed this hat-trick with a fine run through the middle of the Villa defence and neat shot into the corner of the net. Although Villa replied with a breakaway goal, Nomads continued to dominate the play with some good passing moves and it was no surprise when Swifty put them further ahead, latching onto to a rebound after Ryan's shot had been parried by the keeper and firing home from an acute angle. With minutes left, Ryan headed home in a goalmouth scramble to give Nomads a well-deserved 6-0 victory. The margin of victory might have been greater, since Nomads had two efforts disallowed for offside and Danny's late penalty kick unfortunately shaved the wrong side of the post. Well Done Boys! Match Summary: Chester Nomads secured a comfortable victory over a hard-working Upton side in this first-round League Cup game played on a heavy pitch at Hoole Park. After several promising moves, Nomads took an early lead when Joe's cross from the right fell to Matty, whose thundering left-foot drive from the edge of the box sailed over the Upton keeper into the roof of the net. Nomads continued to attack and went close on several occasions but a further goal eluded them before half-time. During the second half, Nomads continued to press forward, although the play was sometimes scrappy, lacking Nomads' normal fluency, and Upton staged some dangerous counter-attacks which were well contained by Danny, Rowan, Ally, Jack and Dale. Midway through the half, however, Nomads extended their lead when Eddie's shot from close range rebounded off the crossbar for Swifty to lash the ball home. With full-time looming, Swifty notched Nomads' third, running onto Benjy's through ball in the right channel and firing home from the angle of the penalty area to make the game safe for Nomads. Match Summary: Chester Nomads strengthened their position at the top of the Ellesmere Port League with an excellent display of attacking football and clinical finishing against a spirited Neston side at the Garrison. Nomads took the lead with a fine shot from the edge of the box from Benjy, Joe quickly added a second from Luke's pass, and Matty made it 3-0 with a great drive from just outside the penalty area. Joe soon converted from close range following Matty's corner and then added another from Swifty's cross to complete his hat-trick. On the stroke of half-time, Benjy made it 6-0 with another fine shot from the edge of the box. Playing with plenty of width, and passing the ball around well, Nomads sustained the pressure throughout the second half and, with Danny, Rowan, Muzzy, Jack and Dale in commanding form at the back, occasional breakaways by Neston were easily contained. Joe quickly extended Nomads' lead with a neat cross-shot from Dale's pass and then turned provider with a cross to Swifty, who flicked the ball past the Neston keeper. MOM Rowan made it 9-0 from close range, nudging home Matty's corner, and then Joe scored his fifth goal from close range after good work from Callum and Benjy. Swifty then headed home from Matty's fine centre and, with minutes left, latched onto a great through-ball from Luke and planted the ball in the net to complete his hat-trick and make the final score 12-0. Match Summary: Rampant Chester Nomads completely overwhelmed a plucky Rossway United side with a non-stop display of attacking football and clinical finishing at the Garrison. MOM Eddie gave Nomads an early lead, converting Joe's neat pass from close range, and Ally quickly added a second with a fine shot from Luke's corner. Eddie added a third, from Luke's pass, Joe made it 4-0 with a fine run and excellent shot from just outside the box, and Luke extended the lead with a great strike from the edge of the area to put Nomads 5-0 up at half-time. Nomads continued to dominate the game throughout the second half, passing, moving and switching the play well, with the result that Danny was a mere spectator in goal (although he was to see some action as an outfield player in the last ten minutes) as the goals rained in. Eddie completed his hat-trick from close range following a super cross from Dale, Swifty volleyed home from Eddie's cross, Eddie added another from Joe's corner, and Swifty made it 9-0 with a cracking shot from Ally's pass and then added another from Eddie's pass to complete his hat-trick. With full-time beckoning, Swifty notched his fourth goal with a powerful header from Joe's pin-point cross before Eddie secured his fifth goal with a fine solo effort to give Nomads a well-deserved 12-0 victory. The margin of victory could have been greater since Nomads had two 'goals' disallowed for offside and were frequently thwarted by the Rossway keeper, who performed very well throughout and made several outstanding saves. Match Summary: A fine first-half display of attacking football helped Chester Nomads to secure a well-deserved victory over a spirited Villa side in cold and windy conditions on a bumpy pitch. Playing with a strong wind behind them, Nomads took an early lead with a fine solo goal from Ally, who dribbled through from defence before slotting the ball past the Villa keeper. Ryan then quickly made it two from close range following MOM Matty's corner, Joe added a brace, the first after a great solo run and the second from Callum's neat pass, and Eddie grabbed a couple of close-range headers, courtesy of passes from Joe and Luke respectively. On the stroke of half-time, Dale made it 7-0, flicking home Joe's pass at the far post. During the second half Villa, now playing with the wind, tried to counter and came close on a couple of occasions, once hitting the post, but the Nomads defence, with Jack proving a reliable stand-in keeper, held firm and Nomads continued to dominate the game. In the last fifteen minutes Nomads stepped up a gear and Muzzy brought a great save from the keeper with a strong drive and Swifty hit the post from close range before Eddie completed his hat-trick, tapping home Dale's pass, to make the final score 8-0. Match Summary: Chester Nomads' impressive Cheshire Cup run came to an end in this quarter-final match played on a heavy narrow pitch against a very strong and well-organised Prestbury side. During an even first half, both sides battled for dominance and there was action at both ends of the pitch. Prestbury went close on several occasions and only some fine keeping from Danny prevented them from taking an early lead. When Nomads countered, Swifty's header from Ryan's cross was saved by the keeper and Ryan fired narrowly over from Matty's centre. But just on the stroke of half-time, and slightly against the run of play, Prestbury took the lead with a header from close range which looped over Danny's head into the net. Although Nomads tried to reduce the deficit in the second half, they were unable to play their normal passing game on the ground in midfield and much of their play lacked width and was too reliant on long high balls from defence, which rendered few chances for the forwards. Midway through the half, Prestbury extended their lead with a shot from close range. Nomads countered with a free kick from Ryan, which was saved by the keeper, a good effort from Joe, which went narrowly wide, and a shot from Swifty, which was cleared off the line. However, in the final minutes, after an outstanding save from Danny, Prestbury sealed their victory with a fine shot from outside the box which flew into the top corner of the net. A disappointing result boys, but on the day Prestbury deserved their victory. But there is still much to achieve in the League, Cup and League Cup this season and you can and will play much better. Match Summary: Playing in their first league match for two months due to the unofficial mid-season break resulting from bad weather, Chester Nomads secured a comfortable victory over a battling Upton side in a lively match played in windy conditions at the Dale Barracks. Both sides struggled for dominance during the first twenty minutes but Nomads gradually gained the upper hand and went close on several occasions before taking the lead through Swifty, who prodded home from close range after Luke's corner had been deflected into his path (This, incidentally, was Nomads' 100th goal this season). Within minutes, Eddie made it 2-0, neatly converting Ally's long free kick to give Nomads a deserved half-time lead. During the second half, playing downhill and with the wind behind them, the Nomads - playing with width and pace - continued to sustain the pressure, and good efforts from Eddie, Joe, Ryan and Matty were foiled by the Upton keeper before Luke extended the lead, firing home from Ryan's pass following an excellent run and centre from Rowan. Minutes later, Swifty made it 4-0 from close range following a strong run by Joe, and Ryan added a fifth, tapping home after Swifty's cross-shot rebounded off the post. Shortly before the final whistle, Swifty completed his hat-trick with a neat half-volley from a splendid through ball by MOM Benjy. All in all a good team performance following a long lay off, with Danny commanding in goal, Rowan, Benjy, Ally and Dale forming a pacey and resolute back four, Tom, Callum, Joe, Luke and Matty working hard and moving the ball around to good effect in midfield, and Eddie, Ryan and Swifty industrious and clinical up front. Match Summary: Chester Nomads progressed into the quarter-finals of the Cheshire Cup with a fine team performance against Eastham Rangers in an exciting cup tie played in wet and windy conditions on a boggy pitch at Eastham. Playing uphill against the wind during the first half, Nomads were slow to settle and Rangers took an early lead when a long shot hit the bar and rebounded for a tap-in on the goaline. Eastham might have had a second, but for fine goalkeeping from Danny, but Nomads gradually began to counter-attack and Joe went close with one effort and Ryan shot over from close range. But Nomads deservedly equalised shortly before half-time with a superb finish from Swifty, who controlled Ally's long free-kick on his chest before firing past the Eastham keeper. During the second half Nomads, now playing downhill with the wind behind them, sustained the pressure on the Eastham defence. Eddie, Ryan and Swifty all had good efforts saved by the Eastham keeper before Nomads took the lead with a fine free-kick from Ally, whose shot from fully 35 yards sailed over the Eastham keeper's head into the roof of the net. Eastham staged several dangerous counter-attacks, two cross-shots going narrowly wide, but with fifteen minutes left Eddie ran onto Rowan's brilliant through ball to fire a great shot home from the edge of the box to seal a fine victory. Joe snatched an early lead for Nomads, slotting home Matty's corner; Luke grabbed the second, following a superb passing move between Dale, Swfty and Joe; Ryan made it three, shooting home from Matty's cross; Ally added a fourth from Ryan's through ball; Jack made it five, with a neat chip-shot from Matty's corner; Swifty added a sixth, tapping home Joe's pass; Joe added two more from passes from Swifty and Luke; Luke grabbed Nomads' ninth, from Joe's pass; and on the stroke of half-time, Joe scored his fourth goal from Matty's pass to make it 10-0. The second half was a quieter affair, but Nomads' lead was extended when Luke's cross was diverted into the net by a Rossway defender. Rossway then mounted an attack and Danny Cooper made his first save of the game, but minutes later he was beaten by a fine individual goal from Rossway. Nomads countered with a series of attacks, coming close on several occasions before Ally drove the ball home ten minutes from time to make the final score 12-1. Well Done Boys!! Keep Working Hard!! Up the Nomads!!

Nomads continued to sustain the pressure throughout the second half, running the Whitby defence ragged, and a further three goals from Swifty, and two each from Joe, Callum and Ryan completed the rout, despite some brave goalkeeping from the Whitby keeper. Match Summary: Chester Nomads completely outclassed a brave Egerton Lions side in an entertaining 3rd round Cheshire Cup match at Egerton. Nomads took an early lead when Swifty laid the ball off for Joe to shoot into the top corner of the net from the edge of the box. Matty added a second, converting Ryan's deep cross at the far post and Joe added a third from close range after his first effort had rebounded from the keeper. Dale then made it 4-0 with a fine low shot from just outside the penalty area and on the verge of half-time Joe completed his hat-trick, again converting from close range after his first effort had been blocked. Nomads continued to sustain the pressure throughout the second half and monopolised the play with plenty of good passing and movement, so much so that Egerton rarely threatened Nomads' goal. Ally scored two quick goals with rasping shots, one from Matty's corner and the other from Dale's centre, and Tom added two more, converting crosses from Dale with strong drives at the far post. With seconds left, Swifty ran onto MOM Callum's neat cross and hammered the ball home to give Nomads a well-deserved 10-0 victory. The margin of victory could have been much greater, since Nomads were denied by the woodwork on three occasions and by some brilliant goalkeeping from the Egerton keeper, who saved numerous goal-bound efforts. Well Done Boys!! Keep Working Hard!! Up the Nomads!!

Match Summary: Chester Nomads earned a comfortable victory over a determined Princes Villa Colts side in a match played in good conditions at the Garrison. Much of Nomads' play was lethargic during the first fifteen minutes and they were lucky not to go a goal down when Colts had one effort disallowed for offside and another rebounded from the post. But then Nomads began to push the ball around and, after coming close on several occasions, took the lead when Swifty was brought down in the box after dribbling through and then converted from the penalty spot. Minutes later, Matty made it two with a fierce shot from just inside the box and shortly before half-time Swifty put Nomads three up, slotting home Rowan's neat cross at the near post. Nomads dominated the second half, passing the ball around well at times, and it was no surprise when Benjy soon extended the lead, firing home from Callum's pass. Tom then made it 5-0, following neat inter-passing between Luke and Jack, and ten minutes from time Joe ran on to Ally's long ball and planted the ball in the corner of the net to seal a deserved 6-0 victory. Well Done Boys!! Keep Working Hard!! Up the Nomads!!

Match Summary:
Chester Nomads eased to a comfortable win over a hard-working and well-organised Upton side at the Garrison. Attacking from the start, Nomads produced a fine first-half display of football, with plenty of pace, good passing and movement off the ball. Joe fired Nomads into an early lead and then turned provider for MOM Luke. Although Upton snatched a breakaway goal, Nomads were in rampant form and Joe scored two further goals from passes from Matty and Eddie to complete his hat-trick and give Nomads a 4-1 half-time lead. During the second half, Nomads took their foot off the gas and much of the play was disjointed, lacking the fluency of the first-half performance. Upton bounced back with a great cross-shot which flew past Danny early in the second half but, after several chances had gone begging, Eddie battled through to knock a loose ball past the Upton keeper for Nomads' fifth goal. Well Done Boys!! Keep Working Hard!! Up the Nomads!!.

Match Summary:
Chester Nomads overwhelmed a spirited Neston side with a non-stop display of attacking football in fine conditions at Neston. Nomads took an early lead when Ryan latched on to Matty's through ball to fire home. Swifty added a second, cracking Eddie's neat lay-off into the roof of the net, and shortly before half-time Jack's header from Matty's cross looped over the Neston keeper to put Nomads 3-0 up. During the second half, Nomads sustained the pressure and Danny was a mere onlooker for most of the half as Nomads sprayed the ball around and put Neston under continuous pressure. Joe slotted home from Ally's through ball, Tom scored from close range from Matty's cross, and Matty added another with a great free kick. Eddie then scored a quick hat-trick, first converting Joe's through ball, then firing home during a goalmouth scramble, and then tapping home from Swifty's assist. With minutes left, Ryan caught the Neston keeper out of position with a cross-shot from the right to secure a comfortable 10-0 victory for the Nomads. Well Done Boys!! Keep Working Hard!! Match Summary:
Chester Nomads, fielding the bare XI, produced their best performance of the season to date in defeating Glenavon, the current leaders of the Wallasey U13s League, with a fine display of football in an exciting Cheshire Cup second-round match at Prenton. Nomads took an early lead when Ryan collected Joe's neat through pass and slotted the ball home and, minutes later, Ryan returned the compliment by putting Joe through for Nomads' second. Shortly before half-time, Nomads added a third goal from a fine passing move which began in Nomads' own penalty area when Swifty passed out to Rowan, who passed to Benjy, who put Joe in behind the Glenavon defence and his shot was too hot for the goalie to handle. Glenavon rallied early in the second half and staged several dangerous attacks but found Danny (and later, Connor), Rowan, Ally, Jack and Tom in resolute form and Nomads continued to play some excellent attacking football, with Swifty, Callum, Benjy and Dale in fine form in midfield, and it was no surprise when Joe ran on to a through ball to complete his hat-trick. Further goals might have followed for Dale, Rowan and Ryan all went close, but, with full-time looming, Swifty sealed a great team performance with a shot from the edge of the box which went through the Glenavon keeper's legs to make the final result 5-1. Well Done Boys!! Keep Working Hard!! Up the Nomads!!

Match Summary:
Chester Nomads inflicted a first defeat of the season on a strong Princes Villa side in an exciting game played in good conditions at the Garrison. Attacking front the start, Nomads took an early lead when Joe's shot was diverted into the net by a Villa defender and quickly added a second when Matty scored from close range after Callum's shot had rebounded off the post. Joe then ran on to a superb long ball from Dale to make it 3-0 and more goals might have followed but for some last-ditch defending by Villa. Shortly before half-time, and against the run of play, Villa reduced the deficit when a cross-shot was unluckily diverted by Jack into the net. Villa continued to attack early in the second half and snatched another goal, but Nomads responded with some good attacking football and Swifty soon extended the lead with a close-range effort after Joe's shot had rebounded off the post. Benjy then scored with a good header from Matty's corner and Ally scored Nomads' sixth with a fine low shot from just inside the box. Minutes before the final whistle, Villa scored their third goal with a fine solo effort, but the day belonged to Nomads with a good overall team performance. Well Done Boys! Keep Working Hard! Match Summary:
Four goals from
MOM Joe Houghton helped Chester
Nomads to an emphatic victory over a
hard-working and determined Hoylake
side in an exciting game at Newton
Park. Nomads took an early lead when
Ally’s long clearance bounced over
the Hoylake keeper into an empty
net, but Hoylake were always
dangerous on the break and midway
through the first half defensive
lapses enabled them to score three
quick goals – two from penalties,
although Joe managed to reduce the
deficit on the stroke of half-time
with a fine shot from the edge of
the box. But Nomads rose to the
challenge in the second half with
some fine attacking football,
passing and moving well. Joe
equalised almost immediately and
then put Nomads ahead from Ryan’s
pass. Luke then scored a fine solo
effort, Joe added another following
a good run, and although Hoylake
grabbed their fourth goal when a
cross was unluckily diverted by Jack
into the net, Nomads were in rampant
form. Eddie added a seventh
following slick interplay between
Swifty and Luke and shortly before
the final whistle Swifty converted
Luke’s cross from close range.
Well Done Boys!!

Match Details: (A) Nomads U13s v Christleton New Scene
Result 1-2
MoM: None
Scorers: Ryan Cartwright (1)
Match Summary:
Chester Nomads, for whom Joe Houghton and Tom Whitney made their league debuts, opened the 2007-08 campaign with an indifferent performance against a capable and hard-working New Scene side at Christleton. Nomads took the lead within the first minute when Ryan latched on to a defensive clearance and lobbed the ball over the New Scene keeper's head. Further goals might have soon followed; Swifty had what appeared to be a good effort disallowed for offside and both Callum and Eddie went very close. But New scene battled hard for an equaliser, which duly came with a headed goal from a corner shortly before half-time. Although Nomads put together some promising moves in the second half their play generally lacked width and cohesion while New Scene battled hard for every ball. Five minutes before full-time New Scene snatched the winner when a cross from the left eluded Nomads' defence and allowed an unmarked forward to score from close range. A disappointing result boys, but you can and will play much better than this in future! Keep working hard. Up the Nomads!
