Match Details: (H) Chester Nomads U9s v Upton Panthers
Result: 1-5
MoM: Not nominated
Scorers: Joe Maddocks
Match Summary: Playing on the bigger pitch Nomads were stretched by an organised Panthers side. An early goal was soon cancelled out with a swift break up the pitch and Joe Maddocks scored our only goal of the game. However, we couldn't build or maintain any pressure and although we had our chances to often we were second best as Panthers went on to win 5-1.
I think some of our leading players had an off day which will happen from time to time. Our heads went down well before the end of the game so therefore as a team we must learn from this defeat and come back in 2 weeks time ready for the challenge.
5-1 flatters Panthers. We had some good possession in patches but it appeared we didn't know what to do with the ball, which is disappointing after some of our previous games, where we had started to pass the ball with some skill.
Looking forward to seeing you all at training (Gresford dont forget) on Monday.

Match Summary: A local derby which contained the expected level of commitment and tough tackles from either side ended with a 3-0 win for a near neighbours.
A local derby is always a game that we look for when the fixtures are drawn at the start of the season and we had some cause to be buoyed by our first 3
performances this season and by a strong playing squad before today's game.
We started the game well and contained the visitors with a combination of tough tackling, smart positional play and a high work rate and the quarter ended with neither side having a clear shot on target.
The second and third quarters saw VXD edge 3-0 in front. Even at 3-0 behind though we felt it wasn't from being out played or from a lack of committment from the boys but in some cases by making poor decisions in crucial areas of the pitch.
In the 4th quarter we really showed what we are capable of achieving. Wave after wave of attacking football saw VXD pinned into their own half which could on another day have grabbed us 2 goals and a way back into the game. However we were met by an organised defence who were determined to keep a clean sheet.

IN BLACON ON A WARM SUNNY DAY NOMADS KICKED OFF THEIR SEASON WITH A COMFORTABLE WIN PLAYING IN FRONT OF A NOISY AWAY CROWD.
NOMADS STARTED CONFIDENTLY BUT AT FIRST WERE UNABLE TO BREAK DOWN THE BLACON DEFENCE UNTIL JOE PICKED UP THE BALL ON THE EDGE OF THE BOX AND WITH A SWEETLY STRUCK SHOT FOUND THE BOTTOM RIGHT HAND CORNER. 1-0 IT REMAINED.
IN THE SECOND QUARTER NOMADS BEGAN TO PRESS HOME THEIR SUPERIORITY. WITH A SERIES OF NICE PASSING MOVES JOE GRABBED A SECOND WHILE KIERAN GRAHAM SMASHED HOME A LEFT FOOT SHOT INTO THE TOP CORNER. JAMIE FOX SCORED THE 3RD OF THE QUARTER WITH A SHOT COME CROSS WHICH EVADED EVERYONE TO SNEEK OVER THE LINE.
JACK LAPPIN DIDN'T HAVE TO WAIT LONG TO GET HIS FIRST GOAL OF THE SEASON. JACK WAS IN THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME AND WAS ABLE TO FIND THE BACK OF THE NET WITH A RIGHT FOOT STRIKE.
AFTER A STRONG RUN DOWN THE RIGHT KIERAN GRAHAM UNLEASHED ANOTHER BULLET TO LEAVE THE BLACON KEEPER WITH NO CHANCE - 6-0 TO NOMADS.
GOALS FROM JAMIE FOX AND VERY WELL TAKEN SHOT FROM LOUIS WHITTAKER CONCLUDED NOMADS SCORING IN A VERY ENTERTAINING GAME.
JOE WAS VOTED THE NOMADS MAN OF THE MATCH.
