Match Summary: With many players missing for this cup match due to injury and family commitment, a very nervous manager chose positions that some players would not normally find themselves in,
The game started very strong for the colts with many shots at W P lions goal, but a very strong goal keeping effort for the lions kept them in this game for the first 15 to 20 minutes, finally after a good through ball from jordan massey to the feet of charlie derbyshire who proceeded to chip the keeper to score our first. half time score 1-0 to colts.
2nd half starts with colts looking as strong as they had finished the first half, with just 10 mins gone jack powell stepped forward to take a derserved penalty following a foul in the box by the lions defense, jack scored to make the score 2-0.
10 minutes to go and colts looked confortable with lions having a few chances but a very strong back four for colts looked unbreakable especially chris anderson who would not normally play in that position. Colts third goal came following some excellent passing from midfield which saw tom rose skip passed several tackles and finally pass the ball to callum poppleton to tap home for colts.
Tom rose was moved from right winger to attacker as a thank you from the manager for his constant effort during todays game, and with just 5 minutes to go got his well deserved goal after some great football from colts midfield.

Match Details: (A) Chester Nomads U12 Colts v Westminster Park Lions
Result: 3-2
Scorers: Kayode Famoriyo (2), Mark Breese
MoM: Ben Hanratty
Match Summary: Chester Nomads Colts were worthy winners in a great game of football. Right from the start the Colts looked in top form and Kayode Famoriyo scored with a fantastic shot from the right hand side of the penalty area, giving the Lions goalkeeper little chance.
The Colts were in control and from a quick worked corner, Mark Breese hit an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the net, 2-0 to the Colts. Lions looked dangerous on the break, but The Colts defenders were having a great game. The Colts hit the cross bar a couple of times, as Jack Powell was getting his shooting boots on!
Just before the break Kayode Famoriyo got his second and put the Colts 3-0 up at half time.
The second half saw the Lions come more into the game as the Colts tired, and only having 1 sub , they battled well. The Lions then scored a well taken goal to make it 3-1.
Then a strange referee decision put extra pressure onto the Colts as he gave a penalty to the Lions for Hand ball. It was clear to all that the ball actually hit a Lions arm, but a penatly was given and score. (After the game the referees did apologise that he got the decision wrong, and it was actually a free kick to the Colts!).
The Colts were gald to hear the whistle as the heat began to take its toll, although a 3-2 score did flatter the Lions a little!

Match Details: (H) Chester Nomads U12 Colts v Waverton Bees
Result: 3-1
Scorers: Charlie Derbyshire, Chris Anderson, Jack Powell
MoM: Callum Poppleton
Match Summary: Chester Nomads Colts claimed their first 3 points with a well deserved 3-1 victory over a compact Waverton Bees side.
Chester Nomads Colts straight from the kick off, put a 8 or 9 passing movement to get Charlie Derbyshire to score within 30 seconds!
The first 20 minutes saw the Colts dominate the game, and Waverton Bees found it difficult to get into the Colts half. The Colts increased their lead through Chris Anderson, with an unstoppable close range shot. In the last 10 minutes Waverton Bees had a few chances and scored a good goal. Half time 2-1 to the Colts.
The Second half started similar to the first with the Colts having most of the play. The Waverton Bees goalkeeper was in fine form and saved some fantastic shots from the Colts forwards.
Jack Powell did manage to score and the Colts looked comfortable at 3-1.
Overall the score line could have been so much different except for the Waverton Goalkeeper and his defenders. First 3 points of the new season to the colts but stronger challenges ahead!
