Date Opposition H/A F A Scorers
7 Feb British Steel H 1 5 Stu Baker (1)

The sixth played host to a very good British Steel side on Saturday. The visitors piled on the pressure from the start and went into the lead from a cross from the right. Nomads tried hard to keep in the game but soon found themselves three down . Stu Baker did score a goal just before half time to give the home side some hope but after the interval the visitor scored again to restore the three goal cushion.

Nomads were awarded a penalty soon after when Stu Baker was brought down ,but the usually reliable Mark Williams shot over the bar. The visitors continued to press and scored two further goals for a well deserved win. One high point on a disappointing
afternoon for the home side was the performance of Rob Balance in mid-field.
MOM : Rob Balance

31 Jan Chester Law College A 1 1 Ross Anglesea (1)

Nomads travelled to Christleton on Saturday to take on a youthful Law College. The first half was a close affair with neither side able to create many chances. Nomads made the break through mid way through the first half when a quick throw in from Rob Balance was met by Ross Anglsea who fired into the College net. The half finished with Nomads loosing two players due to injury and having to rearrange the side at half time.

As expected the second half saw the home side pile on the pressure to try and get the
equaliser. Fine defending from Nomads especially veteran defender Paul Rogers who made several fine clearing headers and blocks, appeared to have won the game for the Nomads . Unfortunately late on a mistake at the back and a deflected shot beat stand in Goalkeeper Ross Anglsea . MOM : Paul Rogers

20 Dec Liobians H 3 3 Murray Howison (1), Keith Simpson (1), Phil Collister (1)

This game provided a feast of football before Christmas On a heavy pitch both teams played some fine football. Nomads went into the lead with one of their best goals of the season when Murray Howison somehow managed to get to Phil Collister cross and steer the ball into the net. ( Pete Ledsham said it was reminiscent of Hernan Crespo at his best !!).

The lead then changed hands several times during the game but with only minutes to go
with Nomads trailing 3-2 and looking beat , Phil Collister broke free and scored past the advancing keeper. MOM : Phil Collister

6 Dec Rockville H 2 5 Fin Ryan (2)

This was the Sixth teams worst game of the season so far . The sixth started well creating several good opportunities before Fin Ryan gave the Nomads the lead. But after this early promise the sixth stopped playing and allowed the visitors to get back into the game and the home side soon found themselves three one down. Fin Ryan did score a second to give Nomads a chance of snatching a result, but the game was settled late in the game when Rockville scored a further two goal to give them a rare but well deserved victory.

4 Oct 5th XI - Dewsbury Cup H 0 3 MOM : Tony Carr
Nomads Fifth and Sixth teams met on Saturday for the first round of games in the Dewsbury Cup. In the opening period of the game the Fifth put the Sixth defence under pressure but the Sixth held out .The game then settled down and in the later stages of the first half the Sixth team themselves mounted several attacks on the Fifth goal ,the Fifth goalkeeper making a fine save from Matty Cotterill.

The Sixth were unable to turn this pressure into a goal and payed the penalty just before half time when from a Sixth team corner the Fifth goalkeeper gathered the ball and set up a counter attack down the left which resulted in a well taken goal. In the second half, and the Sixth still recovering from the late first half goal the Fifth struck again when they were awarded a penalty for a hand ball in the box. The penalty was converted and this effectively killed off the game , the Fifth did score a late goal to wrap up a well deserved victory.

27 Sep Kinnerton H 1 0 Matt Cotterill (1),

MoM Mark Williams

As usual the game against Kinnerton was a close affair. The visitors almost scored early on when they hit the nomads crossbar, this seemed to wake up the home team and they created but missed several good chances. Eventually a well worked move from nomads resulted in a superb whipped in cross from the left by Ian Jameson and a precision header from Matty Cotterill. At half time both sides made changes but both sides struggled to create a clear cut opening. The last twenty minutes saw sustained Kinnerton pressure but the home side defence marshalled by man of the match Mark Williams held out for their first ever win against the visitors
20 Sep Halkyn Vets A 3 2 Keith Simpson (2), Stuart Baker (1)

MOM Mike Whitehusrt

The sixth started their second game of the season in good form scoring a well worked opening goal by Keith Simpson. The Sixth then sat back and were punished when the home side equalised direct from a cross just before the interval. The Sixth came out second half and played some better football but went behind to an own goal from Paul Rogers (His second in two games !!). The match appeared to be going in the home sides favour but , with twenty minutes to go Neil Fraser (Soggy) came on as sub and with virtually his first touch set up the equaliser for Keith Simpson. With time running out and the game looking like it was heading for a draw Stuart Baker got one on one with the Halkyn goalkeeper and managed to force the ball home for the winner !.
13.Sep HAC H 2 5 Ross Anglesea (1)  Phil Collister(1)

MOM Phil Collister

The sixth started their season against a youthful HAC touring side. The visitors went into an early lead but the sixth then settled and it became a more even game, unfortunately the visitor scored a second mid way through the first half. Ross Anglesea then pulled one back for the home side before the visitors scored a third goal just before the interval. In the second half the visitors again struck an early goal to make it four one but man of
the match Phil Collister scored for the nomads to restore the deficit to two goals. HAC scored a late goal to settle the encounter
