Nomads
started the game slow and went behind after 10minutes after a good
strike from the away team. However their lead was short lived as
George J pounced for his first of two well taken goals to even
things up. Lee P was then put through to score Nomads second.
With
the score at 3-1 going into the second half the home team allowed
Rivaracre a little too much space and conceded in a goal mouth
scramble. Joe J scored a 25 yd screamer that gave the away teams
keeper no chance and reinstalled Nomads
two goal cushion but Rivaracre were not to be outdone and fought
back bravely to earn themselves a deserved draw.

Nomads started their first game of
the new year in fine form with six goals in a nine goal thriller
George J lead the way with three (one a penalty) followed by Joe
J, Ollie L, with Mike G wrapping things
up. The game was left to flow from start to finish by some excellent
refereeing and deft play by two very entertaining sides. With the
score evenly matched at 2-2 going into the second half, Nomads
fought hard to take the game beyond Deva who with all credit to them
never gave up the fight right through to the final whistle.

Nomads started the game in a fast and
furious pace and had the better of the early exchanges but Runcorn
were not to be out done as they came forward on the break and caught
the home side off guard resulting in a chip over the stranded home
keeper. This set up a thrilling game with both sides going close. In
particular George J who went on to score a great individual goal and
Mike G who beat two players only to see the keeper make a fine
save, one of many that also denied Joe J, Jack D and a fine free
kick from Benito A.
As it was Runcorn ran out worthy winners
in the latter stages of the game and scored two more goals that the
home team could not recover from. A notable performance came from Matty
C who had a fine game at left back

A hard fought game between two teams currently unbeaten
in the league. Castrol going ahead on all three occasions but Nomads
were not going quietly and came back with goals from George J (2) and
Jack D. A deserved draw sees both teams keeping their unbeaten
record. |

First game of the season for the Nomads pitched them against old
rivals Ellesmere Port (formerly Berwick) in what was always going to
be a highly contested game between two well
drilled sides. As it was Ellesmere Port took
the lead catching the home defence asleep in
the opening minutes.
It didn't take a battling Nomads side long to get back on level terms
though as Lee P struck a goal bound shot against a defender that
deflected into the back of the away sides net and 1 - 1 at half
time was a fair result.
The second half saw
Nomads come off the blocks the quickest and it wasn't long
before they were 2 - 1 in front with a superb 25yd
volley that gave the away keeper no chance. Lee P wrapped
things up for the home team with a great individual strike in the last
few minutes.
However Ellesmere Port weren't finished and managed to pull another
goal back with a great free kick that gave the keeper no chance.
Nomads did have a few further chances to
increase the lead but ran out worthy winners at
the full time whistle. |
