Nomads got off to a flyer start with a 2-0 win over over North Wales' Glans Dynamos. Callum G attacked well down the right and put a firm cross over for James to half volley into the net. Callum then got in on the act with a solo effort taking on two and slotting past the keeper. In game 2, a strong Stork team beat us with two good strikes, paying back our victory in the Upton Tournament. A stalemate in game 3 against Glenavon which meant we needed a victory in the next game. Borras Park Gold were the opposition, and thanks to Callum G being quick to react following James' "nose" down. In game 5 against Vauxhall James received the ball diect from the keepers drop kick and sent it straight back flying over the keepers head and into the net. not to be outdone, Callum then sent a half volley past the diving keeper to seal a 2-0 win. A draw against Mossley Hill and a narrow 1-0 defeat to Moss Valley saw us into the quarter finals.

A great game against EP Rovers saw a nail biting penalty shoot-out that thanks to 3 saves by Callum E gave us a semi final berth. Up against Moss Valley again Nomads gave everything and an evenly balanced game saw it end 0-0. Golden goal extra time still couldn't separate the teams and so again to penalties. Nomads struggled to beat the Wrexham FC keeper who dominated his goal and despite another three fine saves by Callum E, Noamds dipped out 2-1 on penalties. A note about this semi-final, Moss Valley are Wrexham FCs academy team and brought a large squad with them ~ if we can perform like this on a more regular basis next year will be a terrific season for the "Nomads Academy" team.

Report:	What a battle. At the start of this last group game, Stork were top and already through. They needed a win or a draw to get the seeded place
but Nomads produced another dazzling display. Callum G was relentless in attack, constantly tormenting the Stork defence and from one of
his crosses, James rounded the keeper to set Ethan up for his first goal of the season... we always knew he was saving it for a special game!

A disappointing first half from a reshuffled Nomads pack saw Waverton take a 3-0 lead into the second half. Nomads never got going in the first 20 minutes and didn't compete at all, being second to every ball.

At half time the coaches asked for some urgency and commitment and as they kicked off Nomads clearly meant business this time. Straight from the kick off and in approximately 8 seconds a goal was scored through James T. Waverton took the ko, lost the ball in midfield, Nomads attacked and Callum G narrowly missed the target hitting the upright. Game on.

Nomads bossed the second half, limiting Waverton to a few attacks and forcing a fine save from stand-in keeper Shaun. However, the Gold Goal machine started to whir and Alex popped up with a great half volley. Soon after another Nomads attack resulted in James getting his second, for what was a fair draw for both teams.

Mitch M's strong runs were missed as he had to pull out of his first game this season due to illness.

Lessons from this game: Don't get complacent and we must get into the game straight form the kick off.

The game started as a tense affair as Nomads went in search of the win they needed to make the finals day. After a number of attacks 'goal-a-game' striker, Callum G opened the scoring and added another not long after. The Lions then responded with an attack and a shot that bounced off the back and looped over Callum E's out-stretched hands. In the minutes before half time, Nomads increased the tempo and scored through  James T to ease Nomads nerves.

In the second half Alex T had an outstanding game, commanding the ball from defence and making some excellent surging runs. James T added his second of the game before Mitch struck straight from a drop ball. Other notable performances from the ever-consistent Callum E and also from Sam J. In the last five minutes Nomads stretched the play and as the ball came out from a scramble in the Lions area, James struck the ball into the roof of the net for a long-deserved hat-trick.

What a thrilling game this was. With Nomads a key player down, as Alex was on International (?) duty in Amsterdam, they kicked off and went straight on the attack. Before you could blink Callum G had slotted home the fastest goal of the season, timed at just 13 seconds! Five minutes later Nomads left Panthers stunned when they went 2-0 up through a fine interchange involving James, Callum and Mitch who finished well.

Panthers could easily have folded here but they showed what a good team they are by responding to the challenge laid down and found space to pull a goal back before the first 10 minutes were over. Wow!

For the next 10 both teams gave as good as they got, both keepers and defences performing well. The main battle was in midfield were two evenly matched teams fought out a ding dong battle.

At half time, with Nomads 2-1 up all was to play for. Panthers started the brighter and levelled the score to take the game into the final 10 all square. This final ten minutes was nail biting for both teams after many chances were thwarted by both teams. In the end, a draw was probably a fair result but the game brought smiles to everyone that was watching. Well done lads, a win next week will see us playing at the Deva Stadium!

A friendly game played against newly formed Elton Youth saw an aggregate score of 6-1 to the Nomads.

Nomads experimented with their formation, playing many players out of their normal position as part of a learning exercise which worked well. Sam J opened up the scoring with a half-way line beckhamesque shot which looped over the Elton keeper. To their credit Elton then pushed forward and caught Nomads in a lapse of concentration to level the score.

Over the next ten minutes Nomads had much of the possession which was capitalised on by Leon who struck a fine shot but seemed surprised to score and also by Shaun after good work along the line by Mitch.

Further goals by our usual keeper Callum E, who looked strong in the centre of midfield and also a great left foot strike by Mike W. Thanks to James T and Leon S who took a turn in the nets as well as making a good contribution outfield alongside Alex, Ethan and Callum G.

Billed as the game of the season and it certainly lived up to expectations. After a 0-0 first ten, Nomads took a deserved lead through Mitchell M in the second quarter. CNS then pulled back and in a thrilling third quarter took the lead only to see Nomads peg them back with a goal worked by James T and scored by Callum G. Each and every player on both teams should be proud of their performance, all knowing that they have been part of a great game.

With the seconds counting down and the match heading towards what would have been a fair draw, CNS broke free on the left, pinged the ball forward and slotted home the winner with 25 seconds left. Nomads naturally felt disappointed but can rightly hold their heads high as this was a great team performance which brought many favourable comments from both teams supporters.

No individual MoM this week as right from keeper through to striker everyone did superbly well. MoM - 8 Nomads

An entertaining game played at Boughton Hall this week between two good sides. Nomads started brightly getting back to their best by playing the ball around and moving into space. The Saughall keeper was playing well keeping out many Nomads attacks. In the second quarter Nomads had a free kick deep in their own half, stand in keeper James Tucker delivered a great long ball into the box, when Callum Graham pounced on the loose ball to slot home.
Saughall battled back well, but couldn't find a way past James and his defence. Another sparkling move by Nomads saw Shaun Vile-Zahringer, playing his best game so far, chip the ball over the diving keeper.
Saughall did produce two good strikes, one tipped onto the bar by the duputy goalie and the other a stunning half volley to bring the score to 2-1 and set up a tense finish.

After scoring within the first 90 seconds Nomads thought they would be getting back to winning ways today. Playing in extremely windy conditions we started to show some good skills but as with last weeks performance still not producing some of the excellent teamwork from earlier in the season.

Callum opened the scoring with a quick break and a good pass from James who had received the ball after Leon had won a tough tackle in midfield.

The wind proved to be the eighth man, giving an big advantage when playing with your back to it. Even then Nomads looked likely to score and on another day might have scored 6.

Newton's goal came from an unfortunate and rare lapse of concentration from Callum E who otherwise had an excellent game. Conceding just one goal in a game like this showed what a fine keeper he is - we really should be taking the pressure off by scoring more at the other end.

Still in with a shout of finals day and whatever happens we know we'll enjoy playing along the way.

A great game of football which would have been fairer to both teams had it resulted in a draw. The Ellesmere Port league side paid a visit to Boughton Hall this week due to both teams having gaps in the fixture list.

Vauxhall are a top side in the EP league and started off very brightly, and in the first twenty minutes were probably the better side. However Nomads continued to show that they are class outfit and produced some great moves, the 'waves' training is really starting to pay off in the games now.

In the second half Nomads stepped up another few levels and were the better side for it. We had a number of chances to draw level or even take the game but strong defending and a particularly strong display from the Motor Men's keeper meant we couldn't get our just rewards. Well played to all - if we play like we did in the second half not many teams will be able to hold us back!

Nomads did everything they could to win this game. Complemented by Castrol's coach at the end of the game for their ability to look up and select the right pass, along with great movement saw them dominate the game. Alex T played the ball forward to Callum G who struck a half-volley towards the goal only for the Castrol keeper to superbly tip it onto the bar. I think Wayne Rooney was watching this as he repeated the attempt in the United game later the same day!

Callum got his reward with a great strike in the second quarter and Nomads looked solid from front to back. In the dying seconds Castrol launched their final attack, the ball was played forward into the Nomads box, the referee put his whistle to his mouth to blow for time, somehow the ball found itself in the back of the net for the draw. Nomads were naturally disappointed with the draw having deserved the victory. They should take great credit for the way they played though... this side is getting a very good reputation... watch this space!

Nomads always looked the stronger side but that didn't stop the Pumas from attacking at every opportunity. Nomads took the lead in the second quarter through a scrambled goal by Leon S. In the third, Pumas drew level when they attacked in force and a valiant attempt by keeper Callum E couldn't keep out the four Pumas forwards!

In the final quarter Nomads possession started to pay off with a great strike by Leon S into the top corner - two goals on his debut no less and one for inform Callum G. Man of the Match this week was Sam J who was outstanding at the heart of the Nomads defence.

Nomads played very well today, starting off right from the first whistle with some good passing. Nomads first attack saw Callum G take the first opportunity with a fine strike. All the boys played well, Callum E commanding in goal and Sam and Alex a formidable defensive partnership. Ethan, James and Mitch the three ever present players this season are starting to gel very well in midfield. Shaun V again showed that he is improving in every game. MoM this week goes to Callum G who looked dangerous whenever he got hold of the ball and scored three more goals, one a superb solo run and the other a Thierry Henry type back flick! Mitch keeps the top scorer competition very much alive with a further two strikes.

A game played in very difficult conditions saw the Nomads come out on top. Attacking with the strong wind in the first quarter Nomads couldn't capitalise on their possession. In the second quarter Lions started to come back well, again the wind playing the advantage. However, it was Nomads who took the lead thanks to a great run by Alex and well finished by Mitch.

Third quarter brought an equaliser for the Lions but Nomads stretched the lead to 2-1 going into the last 10 up against the wind. The boys worked hard to keep their passing game together and deserved the win with a further two goals.

What a superb game of football played at great pace with both sides showing both good defensive and attacking qualities. Upton took the lead in the first quarter which was quickly returned by a strike by Mitch M. Nomads then started to continue where they left off last week against New Scene by playing some fantastic football. Passing and Moving into space well, showing the watching Nomads chairman Mike Appolonio what a good footballing side the U9's are. A great move was finished off by Callum G and another soon followed. Upton levelled both times to take the game into the final quarter 3-3.

Looking solid all over the pitch, Nomads started to attack with Ethan J giving a MoM performance from centre midfield. The ball was played from player to player, a shot was stopped by the Upton keeper and followed up by Nomads who began to attack again... James T coolly slotted the ball past the diving keeper to take the game for Nomads. A fantastic way to end for the Christmas break.
