Date: 25/02
Competition: Friendly
Match_Details: (A) Nomads 6ths v Law Coll
Result: 5-4
Scorers: Big Macca 2, Mattie Cotterrill 2, Dave Tills
MoM: Russell Turner (superb penalty save from the stand in goalie)
Report: On a sloping shite pitch and after a 2 week lay off the 6ths played as well as could be expected. JK
l2: made a welcome return and you would never have guessed the way he strolled around the pitch
l3: that he had got in at 4.00 am, dedication. In fact it was suggested at 1/2 time if JK and Big Macca
l4: would like to break into something resembling a jog it would be ok. Chris Farrell was superb in
l5: defence & let nothing pass this week, much to the relief the of the cleaners in the club.

Date: 4/02/06
Competition: Friendly
Match_Details: (H) Nomads 6ths v Essemay Vets
Result: 4-1
Scorers: Mattie Cotterill, Big Macca, Kye, Rob Ballance.
MoM: Bobby Davies (because he told me he was)
Report: I must be courteous towards the opposition and refrain from telling the whole truth. This was a very
l2: very enjoyable game and the ref only asked for 1 Essemay player to be subbed before he sent him
l3: off. The 6ths ran out 4-1 winners. However I could have said they were a bunch of plastic scousers
l4: who once they went behind started moaning and wanting to kick anything that moved. But I won't.
l5: Just a quick note the ref thanked the 6ths for being so restrained despite needless provocation.

Date: 28/01/06
Competition: Jewsbury Cup
Match_Details: (H) Nomads 6ths v Nomads Vets
Result: 1-0
Scorers: Pata Balac
MoM: Bobby Davies
Report: This was never going to be an easy fixture for either team. With only 1 goal separating the 2 teams
l2: so it proved. But the big question is did Bobby slip when he let fly from 25 yards? Normally such an
l3: effort would end up in row z. But no, Gooyie could only clutch at thin air as the ball whistled past
l4: him. Fair to play to Joey J though he covered every blade of grass but with the quality of his 1st
l5: touch it was easy to see why! A superb penalty save from Peta B enabled the 6ths to retain the J cup

Date: 21/01/06
Competition: Friendly
Match_Details: (H) Nomads 6ths v Upton Magnets
Result: 3-1
Scorers: Bobby Davies, Mark Tills, Alan Jones (pen)
MoM: The deckchair on the right side of midfield
Report: This was bad!! The back four were that quiet they communicated through sign language. Joey J
l2: complained that the game was passing him by & in all fairness it was. But if you don’t move out the
l3: centre circle and do the impression of a mountain goat grazing on the slopes of the Andes what do
l4: you expect. The only thing that moved on Joey was the bell round his neck. After taking a 2-1 lead
l5: Upton were unlucky not to equalise but their forward did a Butler. A very lucky 3-1 win for the 6ths

Date: 14/1/06
Competition: Chester Challenge Cup
Match_Details: (H) Nomads 6ths v Blacon YC A
Result: 2-0
Scorers: Big Macca, Terry Farrell
MoM: The whole squad, as each squad member contributed in someway to securing a hard fought win.
Report: A very youthful Blacon YC A provided the opposition for this ¼ final tie of the Challenge Cup. A
l2: nervy 1st ½ performance from the 6ths saw them fortuitously take a 1goal lead into the interval
l3: through a bullet header by Big Macca. At 1/2time Blacon shunned the traditional oranges & revitalisd
l4: the team on liquidised Farleys Rusks. Nomads increased their lead in the 2nd half through a superb
l5: strike from Terry Farrell. Blacon piled forward late on in the game but the 6ths hung on to win 2-0.

Match_Details: (H) Nomads 6ths v Cestrian Alexs
Result: 10-3
Scorers: Big Macca 4, Rob Ballance 2, Joey Des 1, Mark Till 1, Bobby Davies 1, Minsh 1.
MoM: Big Macca (Smiler)
Report: Sect A Cestrain Alex provided sat's opposition. With Tilly showing his managerial qualities in Sog's
l2: absence. Some said Tilly had found his true position on the line but I beg to differ... it’s in the
l3: bar with a bottle of Becks. Through some quality football the 6th's lead 8-0 at the interval. But
l4: injuries & lack of subs (thks Snip & Bill a call would have been nice) affected the balance & the
l5: 6ths never regained the same momentum in the 2nd half. Still they managed to scrape a 10-3 win.

Date: 17/12/05
Competition: Jewsbury Cup
Match_Details: (H) Nomads 6ths v Nomads 5th
Result: 3-2
Scorers: Mickey Carroll, Big Macca, Dave Tills
MoM: Joey Des or Big Macca for his major strop & T-shirt
Report: What a great game. The 5ths pushed the 6ths to right to the end. Mr Butler what a guy. But enough
l2: about the game. Well almost Mickey Carroll scored his first goal ever with his head. But I hope it
l3: never happens again. We had to wait 30 minutes for Mr Beautiful to tart himself up. His shoe bag
l4: consisted of mini hair dryer, hair spray, mousse, moisturiser & hand cream. Morale never let you're
l5: wife pack you're bag and the lads near it.

Match_Details: (A) Nomads 6ths v Waterside OB
Result: 10-0
Scorers: Mattie 4, Tilly (M) 3, Big Macca, Joey D, Waterside OB (Went sub for the 6ths & scored)
MoM: Joey Des
Report: With 17 players missing this week the 6ths were struggling. Just 30 mins before they were due to
l2: depart the 6ths had 9 players. But considering the opposition I think the '9' could have won this
l3: on their own. However the 6ths departed with eleven. After the first game you'd think Waterside
l4: would have learn't the perils of playing the offside trap. Alas no. This was the sequel and as in all
l5: good sequels the ending was just as messy. The 6ths romped to a 10-0 victory.

Match_Details: (A) Nomads 6ths v St. Asaph Vets
Result: 8-1
Scorers: Faz 2, Big Macca, Chris Farrell, Joey, Kell, Tilly (M), Minsh
MoM: Bobby Davies & John Kelly
Report: An injury ravaged 6ths trudged of in to deepest Wales for a tough fixture against St. Aspah. The 6ths
l2: were quickly into their rhythm with Kell finding the front players with unerring accuracy. Kell
l3: twigged if we wanted a to win the best option was to miss Mattie out, who demonstrated his ability
l4: to trap a ball further than most can kick it. Big Macca, who stomped round like a lardy galoot & Faz
l5: both kept the St Asaph defence busy. An enjoyable but physical game turned into 8-1 win for the 6ths

Match_Details: (H) Nomads 6ths v Wirral Vets
Result: 4-0
Scorers: Mickey Carroll, Chris Farrell, Bobby Davies, Big Macca
MoM: Bobby Davies 1 & Macca 1 (For his goal keeping exploits)
Report: After last years defeat to a last min goal Nomads were determined to turn the tables. But injury
l2: struck after 10 minutes, Tilly limped off with a ‘Becks kidney’. Our star goalie, making a rare app,
l3: caught the ball which goalies do but unfortunately it was in the bollocks. He was replaced by Macca
l4: who it turns out is a better goalie than forward. Mattie performed in exactly the same way as he has
l5: in the new lap dancing bar and failed to score. Nomads scored 4 in the 2nd half to win 4-0.

Match_Details: (H) Nomads 6ths v Waterside OB
Result: 11-3
Scorers: Mattie Cotterill 8, Dave Tills 1, Mark Thilston 1, Big Macca 1.
MoM: Waterside Offside Trap
Report: What can you say? Waterside looked like a football team but 1st impressions can be deceptive. Their
l2: understanding of the off-side rule was on a par with their pace in the back 4. Non-existence, a bad
l3: combination. As a result Nomads won 11-3.The score could have been worse if the ref had not come
l4: from the Henry Kissinger school for refs. For his own sake and that of world peace he gave some very
l5: generous decisions in favour of the visitors. Yes..all related to offside. P.S. Mattie scored 8.

Match_Details: (H) Nomads 6ths v Barrow 2nd
Result: 4-1
Scorers: Mickey Carroll, Dave Tills, Ian McCallum, Craig Ashton
MoM: Ryanbar Finn
Report: According to the Standard this was an evenly contested game. Whoever submitted that report must have
l2: been on the Carlsberg Cold for a good few hours. Although the 6th’s had a number of injuries they
l3: still fielded a strong team. Nomads didn’t hit the standards that they are capable of but Barrow 2nd
l4: failed to capitalise and caused a solid Nomads defence few problems. Macca, (he of the 1 goal in 47
l5: games as a forward) scored his 2nd goal of the century and has now decided to retire.

Match_Details: (H) Nomads 6ths v Liverpool Ramblers
Result: 10-3
Scorers: Mattie 4, Mark Williams 3, Rob Balance 1, Chris Farrell 1, Mark Tilston 1.
MoM: Mark Tilston
Report: Nomads could have been mistaken as extras from the latest Cocoon movie. Ramblers looked full of
l2: youth & acne, whilst the 6th’s just looked, well.. full. Nomads soon gained the upper hand through
l3: some brilliant 1 touch football. This was due to the fact that we didn’t have the energy or control
l4: to master 2 touch. A superb 35 yd drive completed Big Mark’s hat trick. Mattie netted 4, the best
l5: move followed a Soggy burst of pace (ha) & pinpoint cross for Mattie to volley in from 12 yards.

Date: 22/10/05
Competition: Jewsbury Cup
Match_Details: (H) Nomads 6ths v Nomads 4th
Result: 9-3 of the 4th's misfortune and managed
Scorers: Terry Farrell 4, Mattie 1, Macca 1, Mickey Carroll 1, Tony Carr 1, Joey 1
MoM: Tony Carr
Report: A welcome return to form by 6th secured only their second win of the season. Unfortunately
l2: the 4th's keeper came off injured early in the 1st half and this didn't aid the 4th's team cause any
l3: against a strong 6th team. Macca the mean lean goal scoring machine took full advantage
l4: scoring his 1st goal in 47 appearances, (44 apps as a centre forward). But compare that to Terry F,
l5: 4 goals 1 apps, and it puts Macca's & Mattie's goal scoring exploits very much into perspective.

Match_Details: (A) Nomads 6ths v British Steel
Result: 0-5
Scorers: No one
MoM: We didn't have one.
Report: Not quite sure if British Steel were that good or we were just that bad.
l2: Apart from the last 20 minutes of the first half the 6th team were totally out classed. Only 1-0
l3: down at half time the 6th basically couldn't string two passes together in the 2nd half and BS ran
l4: out deserved winners. Macca, our star forward, continued his 100% record of not scoring.
l5: Not saying Mattie's first touch was poor but it made his second touch a header!!!

Match_Details: (H) Nomads 6ths v Saltney Vets
Result: 1-2
Scorers: Bobby Davies
MoM: John Kelly
Report: An excellent game of football. Saltney took the lead and Bobby leveled for Nomads in the second
l2: half. As the game progressed anything less than a draw was going to be harsh on either team.
l3: With 10 minutes to go Saltney struck the killer blow due to a defensive error. Again the
l4: 6th's created enough chances but the only thing Mattie can finish these day's is a relationship
l5: ......& he doesn't do that very well.

Match_Details: (H) Nomads 6ths v Liobians
Result: 1-2
Scorers: Alan Jones
MoM: Chris Farrell
Report: The 6th's team clearly lost this match in the second half. Liobians went 1 up against the run of
l2: play. Jonah slotted his second penalty of the season to draw the team's level. The 6ths created
l3: numerous clear cut chances but failed to capatalise. How could you best describe Fergie's finishing
l4: on a family web page, hmm...weak. Don't worry Ferg we'll call you.
l5:

Date: 17/09/05
Competition: Chester Challenge Cup
Match_Details: (H) Nomads 6ths v Crossways
Result: 4-3
Scorers: Dave Tills, Mickey Carroll, Chris Farrell, Bobby Davies
MoM: Bobby Davies
Report: The 6th's team made hard work of progressing into the next round after going 3-1 up. Crossways
l2: fought back to draw the scores level at 3-3. But Bobby Davies hit the winner with 10 minutes to go.
l3: Tilly's silky skills in defence were at best questionable & Mr. Farrell stepping forward to take a
l4: penalty is about as welcome as Joey at a referee's convention. Come back Jonah all is forgiven.
l5:

Date: 10/09/05
Competition: League
Match_Details: (H) Nomads 6ths v HCA)
Result: 2-3
Scorers: Alan Jones 2
MoM: Joey Jordan
Report: A hard opener for the 6th against a fit and youthful HCA. After going a goal down the 6th's hit
l2: back with two goals from Alan Jones (1 pen). The less said about the rest of the game the better.
