Competition: Friendly
Match_Details: (H) Nomads Vets v West Kirby
Result: 3 - 2
Scorers: Keith Rowan 2, Geoff Moss
MoM:
In the first 5 minutes every touch made by a vets player was to give the ball to the opposition. Ledgey lost his touch, fortunately he regained it later to provide an immaculate cross to Keith to head the opening goal. Later in the half Geoff on his 1st full game for 3 months collected the ball on the edge of the box and returned it with interest into the post and side netting. The first half was dominated by Nomads except in the whinging department as the West Kirby centre back gave us all ear ache. A couple of changes at half time and defensive errors allowed West Kirby to get back into the game with two quick goals. The whinging B......d continued to appeal for every descision so it was exceptionally sweet when Keith out leaped him after a great ball in from Graham Lightfoot to nod the ball over the advancing keeper and roll into the net for the winner.

Match_Details: (H) Nomads Vets v Spittle Vaults
Result: 2 - 2
Scorers: Pete Ledsham, Steve Smith
MoM:
Vets played well in the opening 20 minutes creating numerous chances. If Mal had played more recently he would have tucked away at least a couple. Steve Smith had a few chances and if Coops had pulled his trigger he could have scored, unfortunately not in the goal. Vets went 2 down, the 1st from the traitor Keith Rowan's strike rebounding off the bar straight to opposition to place into the net. In the second 1/2 more pressure down the slope from the vets resulted from a Graeme Anderson mis queued cross straight to Pete who volleyed home. The equaliser came fron an intricate move through the middle involving Manny, Coops and Smigger striking the ball home.

It all started at the club with 7 l3: players, several phone calls later we found that players had let us down; we found that others were l4: going to be late. We started with 10 plus 1 but played really well and went 3 up before 1/2 time. l5: Defensively we were strong, the midfield were dominant and Macca, Tilley and Colly annoyed the opposition

MoM: Report: The 1st half was a tough battle with both teams going close on a few occasions, Keggy making l2: the best double save of the season so far. Close to the end of the 1/2 manny successfully stuck l3: the penalty away. In the second 1/2 the vets started to dominate play and chances came and went l4: but then the move of the game swept from left to right through Savvy and Snake with a quality cross l5: onto Brods head he placed it in the corner.
