Nomads unluckily finished the first 10 2-1 down. The half started well with a well worked goal and cool finish from Jamie Fox. However the next 20 saw Westminster Park score a further 4 goals to lead 6-1. In the last 10, eventual MOM Kieran Graham produced a defensive display to match the best and also got himself a deserved goal. Final score 6-2.
After an excellent start to the game , with strong movement and passing, Nomads took an early lead through Jamie Fox who cooly slotted passed the Westminster Park Keeper. However Nomads unluckily eneded the first 10 2-1 behind after a lack of concentration in defence and a magnificant free kick from the WP No.10.
Unfortunately the trend of conceding easy goals continued when Westminster Park scored a further 4 goals to lead 6-1 after 30 mins. Disappointing because in recent games Nomads have shown glimpses of what they can produce going forward, but definsive duties need to be thought about also and improved upon.
Eventual MOM Kieran Graham got a deserved late goal after showing a gutsy and faultless defensive display playing out of position.
Much improvement is needed in our next game against Blacon at Cairns Crescent on Tuesday 1 May 07.

Match Report By: Steve Fox
On Saturday Nomads managed to achieve what Everton have failed to do for 25 games........WIN 2 games on the bounce, with an away victory at the County Officers Club. The game was played in perfect conditions with blue skies overhead and again Nomads were followed to this away fixture by their loyal band of supporters.
The game started well with an even amount of possession to each team, but after a nice build up Kieran Graham struck to put Nomads one up after 5 mins. Newton game back into the game with a late strike at the end of the half - 1-1 at the break.
In the second 20 Newton put out a stronger 7 and Nomads struggled to compete and ended the half 2-1 down. Nomads equalised early in the 3rd quarter with a move from the training ground, a quick throw from the right in into the box and Kieran Graham slotted home for his 2nd of the game.
Nomads 3rd goal again came from the training pitch, a quickly taken corner lofted into the box by Louis Whittaker which the Newton defence failed to deal with and Kieran Turner finished nicely to put Nomads 3-2 in front.
Nobody could predict what happened in the final 10 minutes of this game.
Newton took advantage of a lack of concentration by Nomads to score twice in 5 mins and inch ahead in the game 4-3, which to them must have felt like victory, but Nomads, roared on from the sidelines, never stopped trying and going forward. Then after a Newton foul Nomads were awarded a free kick outside of the box which was 'thumped' home by Louis Whittaker - '4-4'.
Surely that was all the emotion we could take in 40 mins?
But credit were credits due Nomads wanted the victory badly and after moving the ball forward Jamie Fox found himself in the box and he found the top corner to snatch victory in the final minute!!! '5-4'
Well done Nomads a great team performance!!

Result: 2-0

Match Report By: Steve Fox
A heavy pitch in Saughall meant a late change of venue to Boughton Hall for this Saturday morning fixture, but the game was still in doubt right up to kick-off due to a heavy frost the previous night. An 10.30 inspection found the pitch in excellent condition and Nomads kicked-off with a un-changed side watched by a sizable crowd and under perfect blue skies and sunny conditions.
Nomads had been working on their pitch positions and speeding up play at throw-ins and goal kicks over the previous weeks training and the improvement was there for all to see in the 1st quarter. First to the tackle and good interchanges of play led to a free kick on the edge of the Saughall box. Kieran Graham took control and a great shot found it's way into the Saughall net - 1-0 to Nomads........a significant goal, this was the first time Nomads had scored first in many matches. Could they hold onto the lead?
The 2nd and 3rd quarters were more even with Saughall coming into game, however our Goalies remained largely un-worked which showed how competitive we were being around the park.
Our new tactics were working well with some excellent quick goalkicks and throw ins which put Saughall on the back foot many times throughout the match and eventually right at the death it helped us to bag our second goal. In the dying seconds a quick throw in from Louis Whittaker found Jamie Fox free in the box, a nice first touch left him clear and a confident strike gave Nomads a much deserved 2-0 victory.
The Nomads management and supporters would like to thank Saughall for bringing their own goals to this fixture allowing this fixture to go ahead and we look forward to arranging a return friendly fixture at Seahill Rd.

A disappointing result after a what was a good performance by Nomads.
Westminster Park scored 3 times in quick succession to lead at the break. However Nomads found some form in the 2nd 10 and were competing all across the field and but for a little bit of luck Kieran Turner may have scored, but the half ended with a nice move and blistering shot and goal by Louis Whittaker.
In the 3rd quarter Nomads continued to work hard and had some good play but W Park scored the only goal to lead 4-1 with 10 mins to play.
Again the 4th quarter saw a similar pattern emerging. Nomads were competitive and playing well but W. Park scored the only 2 goals to secure a 6-1 win.
Well done Nomads a much improved performance from the previous game but we still have things to work on in training. See you Tuesday.

Nomads returned to action after a 2 week break with a full squad of players as the team welcomed back the Whittaker brothers from international duty.
The first ten minutes ended even but the main chances went Waverton's way and with cooler finishing they could have gone in ahead. A good save from Emily Tucker also kept the result all square.
The second quarter started brightly for Nomads with the introduction of the Whittaker brothers keen to make up for lost time in their enforced break from first team action. Louis W made an immediate impression with his powerful runs down the the right flank (and left) and eventually his runs paid dividends when Kieran Turner opened the scoring. Kieran has now scored in 4 consequetive games.
Waverton came out strongly in the third quarter and dominated play. Nomads Keeper for the 3rd quarter Jamie Fox played an inspired game keeping out several promising chances with fine saves.
Eventually, however, Waverton's pressure told with two late goals which consigned Nomads to their 2nd defeat of the season.
The 2 week layoff showed with Nomads a little below par. However a run of games over the next few weeks should see Nomads return to their competitve best.
Well done to the whole squad. Thanks also to the families who attended this away fixture and gave the team great support. A home match against Waverton Rockets is up next at Boughton Hall.

Thanks to Dave Killoran for taking the side for a second week while I was away completing my Coaching Course. I'm pleased for Dave that the squad acheived a much deserved first victory of the campaign.
According to information passed onto me by the crowd on Saturday, each player played their part in registering 8 goals and a solid display from our NO 1 - Emily - restricted the visitors to the odd one in reply.
Again according to my sources the crowd were vociferous in their support of the team.
Congratulations to Jamie Fox and Kieran Graham who both opened their goal accounts for the season in fine fettle, both securing 4 and 3 goals respectively.
Kieran Turner also appeared on the score sheet for the 3rd successive week bringing his haul to 6 goals in 3 outings.

Boughton

Saturday.
Nomads
Man of
Match,
Kieran
Turner
scored
both
goals in
the
first 20
mins in
an
impressive
team
display. Nomads,
who were
denied
their
first

goalie,
Emily
Tucker,
by a
late
bout of
sickness
re-shuffled
their
squad
but
still
managed
to
entertain
the
crowd
with
exciting
attacking
football.
Particulary
impressive
throughout
the game
were our
wingers
Jamie
Fox and
Louis
Whittaker,
who both
stuck to
their
jobs.
Whittaker
was
always
available
to clear
the ball
away
from
danger
and
combined
extremely
effectively
with
Kieran
Graham,
who as
always,
put in
an
impressive
and
solid
display. Fox,
Whittaker
& Graham
had
several
half
chances
but all
were
unable
to
convert
due to a
resilient
goalkeeping
display
by
Blacon.
Nomads'
defence
was

Jack

The
third
quarter
passed
without
any

on the
Nomads

and it
appeared
that we
were on
course
to
record a
debut

but,
Blacon
refused
to lie
down and
never
let
their
heads
drop and
finally,
after
Nomads
rung the
changes,
Blacon
got a
break
with a
fine
goal,
which
Tyler
Caslin
could do
little
about.
After
all
their
possession
the goal
seemed
to catch
Nomads
by
surprise
and
their
replacement,
Simon
Element,
fought
hard to
pretect
the
slender
lead,
not even
an
excellent
last
gasp
tackle
by Luke
Whittaker
could
stop the
inevitable
and with
time
running
out and
the
Blacon
attacks
now
coming
in waves
they
managed
to
breach
the
Nomads
defence
one more
time to
score
the
