Ellesmere Pot JFL U12s League Cup winners Chester Nomads completed a unique double by retaining the Ellesmere Port U12s Knockout Cup with a strong and spirited all-round team performance against a well-organised Newton Athletic side in an exciting final played at Capenhurst. Nomads put Newton under pressure from the start and, after several promising attacks, took an early lead when Eddie latched onto Swifty's pass to fire a low shot into the corner of the net. Playing with plenty of width and pace, Nomads continued to put Newton under pressure throughout the first half and Eddie, Benjy, Luke, Callum and Ryan all went close to extending the lead. During the second half, Newton tried hard to gain an equaliser but when they did threaten they found Danny, Gregor, Rowan, Ally and Dale in commanding and uncompromising form in defence, supported by a hard-working midfield, and in the final stages of the game Nomads mounted several fine counter-attacks and came close to snatching a second goal before the final whistle. But on the day, one goal proved enough and Nomads ran out deserved winners to provide a fitting finale to an amazing season.. Well Done Boys!! Every one a hero!! Up the Nomads!!

Chester Nomads produced a fine all-round team performance of controlled football to defeat a hard-working and well-organised New Scene side in the final of the Ellesmere Port League Cup in an exciting match played in an excellent spirit under good conditions at the Castrol ground. Both sides started nervously, but Nomads, again playing with a reshuffled side, gradually exerted the greater pressure and, after both Ryan and Eddie had gone close with snap shots, Nomads took a the lead midway through the half when Ryan converted from the penalty spot after having been brought down in the box. Nomads continued to attack and extended their lead when Eddie ran onto Callum's neat through ball to fire a fine cross-shot into the corner of the net. New Scene countered with several dangerous attacks but the defence stood firm and only the crossbar denied Nomads a third goal just before half-time. Nomads sustained the pressure during the second half, playing with speed and width on the large pitch, and came close on several occasions. With fifteen minutes to go, Swifty effectively sealed Nomads' victory with a splendid left-foot volley from just outside the penalty area after Ryan's corner kick had been cleared. Although New Scene staged a fine late counter-attack and scored a good consolation goal, the day belonged to Nomads, who fully deserved their victory. Well Done Danny, Rowan, Ally, Jack, Dale, MOM Gregor, Benjy, Eddie, Callum, Swifty and Ryan!! Keep Working Hard!! Up the Nomads!!

Match Report By: Roger Swift

Chester Nomads produced an inspired performance to defeat a strong and determined Newton Athletic side in a thrilling and closely-contested League Cup semi-final at the County Offices. Forced by injuries to field a reshuffled side, Nomads battled hard throughout the match and every player ran his socks off. Both sides struggled for mastery during the early stages of the first half, with chances at both ends, before Newton took the lead with a speculative shot from the left wing which flew over Danny into the far corner of the net. But Nomads came back strongly with several counter-attacks and gained a deserved equaliser just before half-time when Swifty chested down Eddie's corner and volleyed into the roof of the net from close range. Nomads sustained the momentum in the second half, with Gregor, Rowan, Ally and Dale forming a resolute back line, Benjy, Swifty, Luke and Eddie strong in midfield, and Callum and Ryan harrying the Newton defence. Midway through the half, Nomads took the lead when Swifty's interception and long ball from midfield found Ryan, who beat two defenders and placed a fine low shot into the bottom corner of the net. Although Newton tried hard to gain an equaliser, mounting several strong attacks, Nomads stood firm, with Danny in great form in goal, and might even have snatched another goal befor the game ended. Well Done Boys!! A truly outstanding performance!! Keep Working Hard!! Up the Nomads!!

Cup holders Chester Nomads staged a tremendous second-half recovery to snatch victory in a close, thrilling and hard-fought game against a determined New Scene side at Christleon. Nomads started brightly and went close in the early stages before New Scene snatched the lead with a freekick from just outside the box. Munites later, New Scene added a second when a loose ball was fired home following a defensive mix-up. But Nomads rallied and reduced the defecit just before half-time when Luke's splendid free-kick found the top corner of the net. Nomads sustained the pressure throughout the second half and gained a deserved equaliser when Eddie's close-range shot sneaked under the New Scene keeper. Both sides fought hard throughout extra time but Nomads continued to battle for mastery and snatched the lead when Eddie latched onto a clearance and lobbed the ball from outside the box over the stranded New Scene keeper. Although New Scene staged several counter-attacks, coming close from several free-kicks, Nomads remained resolute and in the last minute Luke fired home from the edge of the box to secure Nomads' place in the final. A fantastic come-back!! Well Done Connor, Rowan, Ally, Jack, Dale, Declan, Eddie, Benjy, Luke, Gregor, Matty, Callum, Swifty and Ryan!! All Men of the Match. A strong second-half performance enabled Chester Nomads to conclude their successful league programme with a convincing win against a determined and robust Princes Villa Colts side at Ellesmere Port. Both sides struggled for mastery in a largely inconclusive and at times frenetic first half and it was only just before the break that Nomads were able to snatch the lead with a fine cross-shot from Eddie, who latched onto a loose ball on the edge of the box and fired home into the far corner of the net. But Nomads stepped up a gear in the second half and quickly extended their lead when Ryan collected Swifty's long through ball and pulled the ball back from the goal-line for Eddie to score from close range. Minutes later, Callum snatched an opportunist third goal, converting a rebound from the Villa keeper, and Swifty quickly added a fourth, again scoring from a rebound after his first effort had been saved. Eddie then completed a deserved hat-trick, firing home from another through ball, and in the last minute Swifty scored Nomads' sixth after rounding a couple of defenders and slotting the ball into the corner of the net. Well Done Boys!! But Keep Working Very Hard - there are now TWO cups to win!! Up The Nomads!!

Match Report By: Roger Swift

An excellent first-half display of attacking football enabled Chester Nomads to overcome a skilful and well-organised Hoylake side in this league cup match played on a hard pitch at the Garrison Ground. Attacking from the start, and playing with plenty of movement and width, Nomads took an early lead with a fine cross-shot from the edge of the box from Luke, following a strong run down the left wing. Minutes later, Beny added a second with a close-range header from Matty's centre and Swifty soon extended the lead, turning onto Eddie's pass on the edge of the box and planting a left-foot shot into the bottom corner of the net. Nomads were firing on all cylinders and it was no surprise that a fourth goal followed, when MOM Dale's superb deep low cross was volleyed home by Swifty at the far post to give Nomads a well-deserved and emphatic half-time lead. Hoylake tried to regroup during the second half and mounted several promising moves but found Danny in resolute form in goal and Rowan,Ally, Jack and Dale quick to cover and recover at the back. Despite injuries to Luke and Matty, Nomads continued to press forward, with Gregor and Callum lively in the channels, and midway through the half Ryan extended the lead, running onto Eddie's neat though ball and chipping the ball over the stranded Hoylake keepr from the edge of the box. More goals might have followed but for some good defending by Hoylake. Well Done Boys!! A good result after two weeks without a game and too much Easter chocolate. Keep Working Hard!! Match Report By: Roger Swift

An excellent second-half display of powerful and committed attacking football enabled Chester Nomads to overcome a strong and well-organised Princes Villa side in a fast and exciting game played on a dry but bumpy pitch at Whitby Park. Both sides struggled for mastery during an even first half and there were chances at both ends, with Nomads denied by several excellent saves by the Villa keeper and Danny preventing Villa from snatching goals with two outstanding saves. The stalemate continued during the early stages of the second half, althouh Nomads might have taken the lead but for a brilliant save by the Villa keeper from Ally's penalty kick. But, undaunted, Nomads continued to press forward, with MOM Benjy particularly impressive, and the deadlock was broken midway through the half when Matty's powerful free-kick was parried by the Villa keeper and, although the ball looked to be crossing the line, Ryan was there to make sure. Minutes later, Nomads extended their lead when Eddie ran on to Dale's excellent though ball and rammed a right-foot shot into the roof of the net. Then, with five minutes left, following a clearance from Luke's centre, Swifty made the victory secure with a fine turn and left-foot shot from just inside the penalty area which found the bottom corner of the net. This was another great team performance against a full-strength and dangerous Princes Villa side who showed exactly why they had won so many matches this season. Well Done Boys!! You are now virtually assured of at least a runners-up trophy and medals this season. Up the Nomads!!

Match Report By: Roger Swift

Chester Nomads outclassed a plucky Shore Villa side with a fine display of fast attacking football at the Mayfields, Rock Ferry, and inflicted the heaviest defeat of the season on the Villa. Passing the ball well from the start, Nomads took an early lead through a long free kick from Matty, Ryan made it two from close range after good work from Callum, Eddie scored Nomads' third from close range, Matty added a fourth from Ryan's pass, Benjy slotted home the fifth, and Callum made it six from Matty's cross. Such was Nomads' all-round dominance that Villa rarely mounted an effective attack and only with half-time approaching did they manage to reduce the defecit with a good penalty kick after Danny had brought down their centre-forward in the box. 6-1 up at half-time, Nomads continued to play a fluent passing game, with Rowan, Ally, Jack and Dale strong at the back, Eddie, Benjy, Gregor, Luke and Matty dominant in midfield, and Callum, Swifty and Ryan fast and dangerous up front. Ryan added Nomads' seventh goal, from Matty's cross, Swifty knocked home number eight after Dale's shot had been parried by the keeper, and Dale scored Nomads' ninth from Ryan's cross. Shortly before the final whistle, Ryan converted from close range to complete his hat-trick and notch Nomads' tenth goal. All in all, a great all-round team performance reflecting plenty of skill, effort and enthusiasm, and with every player showing good form. Well Done Boys!! Keep Working Hard!! Up the Nomads!!

Chester Nomads outplayed a well-organised Princes Villa Colts side with some fine attacking football in windy conditions at the Garrison Ground. After several near misses, Nomads took the lead when Matty collected Eddie's pass and beat the Colts keeper with a good shot from just inside the box. Benjy then extended Nomads' lead, firing home in a goalmouth scramble following Matty's deep corner from the left. Shortly before half-time, Eddie made it three, following a fine passing movement between Swifty and Ryan. Nomads sustained the pressure during the second half and, with Rowan, Ally, Jack and Dale solid at the back, and MOM Callum, Eddie, Benjy, Luke and Matty working hard in midfield, Danny was a spectator for much of the time, for Colts rarely threatened the Nomads' goal. Matty made it 4-0, firing home following an excellent interception and long through-ball from Dale. Then, shortly before the final whistle, came the best move of the match when slick passing between Dale, Swifty and Luke enabled Ryan to knock home Nomads' fifth goal from close range. Chester Nomads eased to a comfortable win over a hard-working Rossway United side at the Garrison Ground. Nomads started well with some good attacking moves using the full width of the pitch and it was no surpise when Benjy gave them an early lead, heading home Matty's corner. Luke quickly added a second, from Matty's pass, and then a third from close range. Shortly before half-time, Benjy notched Nomads' fourth in a goalmouth scramble. During the second half, Nomads continued to dominate, with MOM Ally covering splendidly at the back, but failed to translate numerous attacks into goals, despite several near misses. A fifth goal eventually arrived when Callum's shot hit the bar and was knocked into the net by the unfortunate United keeper, who had otherwise made some good saves. All in all, three points gained but a disappointing team performance. Keep Working Hard, Boys!! Up the Nomads!!

Chester Nomads eased into the semi-finals of the Ellesmere Port JFL U12s Cup with a convincing win over a hard-working Rossway United side at Whitby Park. Nomads attacked from the start and several good pasing moves almost resulted in a goal before MOM Eddie converted Ryan's pass from close range to give Nomads the lead. Ryan added a second after a fine dribble through the United defence and then notched the third, knocking home a rebound off the keeper, and Benjy made it 4-0 just before half-time. Nomads continued to press forward and move the ball around in the second half and Ryan completed his hat-trick, heading home after a fantastic run and cross from Dale, Eddie made it six from Gregor's pass, and Luke added a seventh with a cross-shot from the edge of the box. United staged a brief rally and pulled a goal back from the penalty spot and might have repeated the feat minutes later but for a penalty kick that flew just wide of Danny's right-hand post. But Nomads responded with another goal from Ryan, who knocked the ball home at the near post after a goalmouth scramble, and a fine shot from Matty from just outside the box to make the final score 9-1. Nomads might even have made it ten had not Rowan's penalty kick rebounded from the crossbar. Well Done to all the Boys, including those who, for once, didn't get on the scoresheet - Danny, Rowan, Ally, Jack, Dale, Gregor and Callum - but who all played their part in a competent team performance. A good win and now just one game away from the final! Keep Working Hard!! Up the Nomads!!

Chester Nomads produced a non-stop display of attacking football in overwhelming a plucky Hope Farm Rangers side on a heavy pitch at the Garrison Ground. After several near misses, Swifty gave Nomads the lead from close range after Matty's shot had rebounded off the goalie; Luke added a second, intercepting a goal kick and firing home; Matty added a third, from Eddie's pass; Benjy made it four, from Ryan's pass; Rowan made it five, converting a penalty following a handball; MOM Ryan added a sixth from from close range folowing a neat pass from Gregor. Then came arguably Nomads' best goal of the season so far when, following a five-man passing move, Swifty half-volleyed a tremendous shot into the top corner of the net from the edge of the penalty area. 7-0 up at half-time, Nomads continued to press forward in the second half. Rowan, Ally, Nick and Dale pushed up, leaving Danny with relatively little to do in goal , and Eddie, Benjy, Gregor, Luke and Matty continued to pass the ball around well, using the wings to good effect. Two close-range snap-shots from Callum, from passes from Swifty and Ryan, extended Nomads' lead and Ryan added a tenth from Luke's cross before completing his hat-trick with a left-foot shot from Matty's cross. Then Callum completed his hat-trick from Ally's through ball, Matty scored his second with a lob over the keeper, Eddie added another with a good cross-shot from just inside the box, and Nick got on the scoresheet with a neat penalty after Swifty had been tripped over. In the last minute Swifty ran through to complete his hat-tick with Nomads' sixteenth goal. All in all this was a much brighter team performance and the margin of victory would have been far greater but for some splendid saves by a brave Rangers keeper. Well Done Boys!! Keep Working Hard!! Match Report By: Roger Swift

League leaders Chester Nomads' thirteen match unbeaten run was ended by a hard-working and determined New Scene side in a closely contested match at Christleton. Nomads started brightly, passing the ball well, and went close to scoring on several occasions in the early stages. Much against the run of play, New Scene took the lead with a long shot from outside the box which went over Danny's head into the roof of the net. Nomads responded with a series of attacks and eventually seized an equaliser when Benjy headed in Matty's cross from close range. New Scene regained the lead midway through the second half with a close range shot following a defensive mix-up. Nomads battled hard for an equaliser and a close-range volley from Ryan hit the bar whilst a swerving drive from Swifty scraped the angle of the post, but the New Scene defence held out to the final whistle. All in all, this was a disappointing and disjointed team display, with few good scoring chances created from midfield. Come on Nomads, you can play much better than this. Keep working hard!!

An excellent first-half display of good passing and attacking football enabled Chester Nomads to secure a comfortable win over Neston Nomads. Chester Nomads took an early lead when Dale converted Swifty's cross and Benjy quickly made it two, knocking home a rebound after Ryan's shot had been blocked. Dale notched the third goal from Callum's pass and Benjy added a fourth from Swifty's cross. First Benjy and then Dale duly completed their hat-tricks, both converting centres from Callum. By half-time, Neston had been thoroughly outplayed, with their forwards controlled by Rowan, Ally, Jack and Nick and their midfield dominatd by Benjy and Luke. However, during a disappointing second half, punctuated by stoppages, Chester Nomads stepped down a gear, lost their shape and, although there were some goalscoring opportunities, only goalie-turned-striker Danny was able to add to the score, firing in a shot from the edge of the box which flew over the Neston keeper's head like a Zeppelin. Neston managed to score a consolation goal from a penalty in the last minute but another three points were already secured. Keep Working Hard Boys. Up the Nomads!

Chester Nomads overwhelmed a spirited Whitby Rangers side with a good attacking performance on a heavy pitch at the Garrison Ground. Nomads bombarded the Whitby goal from the start and took an early lead when Callum converted Ryan's short pass. Ryan quickly added two more - one coming from an excellent pass from Luke - and Swifty hooked home Matty's corner to put Nomads 4-0 up after twenty minutes. Shortly before half-time, Matty added a fifth with a fine shot following some great work by Dale. The second half continued in similar vein and, with Ally marshalling the defence, Rangers rarely threatened the Nomads' goal. Eddie provided passes for Swifty and Callum to convert, Ryan completed his hat-trick with a snap-shot, Matty added another with a splendid free-kick and Swifty completed his hat-trick from Benjy's cross. Rowan then scored his first goal for the club with a deflected cross-shot, Jack scored from close range, and Danny, who had not had a save to make during the game, added another with a super penalty kick. In the last minute, Swifty dribbled through to score his fourth, and Nomads' fourteenth goal. All in all a good team performance which might have resulted in even more goals but for some brave saves by the Whitby keeper. Well Done Boys! Keep Working Hard! Up the Nomads!

Honours proved even in this exciting and hard-fought top-of-the-table battle with a strong and well-organised Newton side in a match played on a heavy pitch at the Garrison Ground. During the early stages of the first half, both sides fought hard for midfield supremacy and, after several pomising moves, Nomads took a well-deserved lead ten minutes before half-time with a fine low shot from the edge of the box by Eddie following Matty's corner. Newton staged a strong counter-attack during the second half and only some fine goalkeeper from Danny prevented them from gaining an equaliser but, ten minutes from time, their pressure eventually reaped dividends when a through ball deceived the Nomads defenders and enabled Newton to grab a point. All in all, a fair result on the day. Danny was tremendous in goal, keeping us in the game during the second half; Rowan, Declan, MOM Ally, Jack, Nick and Dale all worked hard to stem Newton's counter-attacks; Eddie, Benjy, Gregor, Luke and Matty fought hard to win the ball in midfield; and Callum, Swify and Ryan battled bravely up front against a strong defence without their customary service. League leaders Chester Nomads overwhelmed a brave Hope Farm Hotspurs side with a fine display of attacking football on a heavy pitch at Cheshire Oaks. Attacking from the start and passing and moving with considerable fluency, Nomads took an early lead when Matty fired home from MOM Swifty's centre. Minutes later, Swifty added a second, running on to Matty's through ball and beating the keeper with a low shot, and then notched a third, with a superb turn and chip shot from just inside the box. Matty added a fourth, latching on to Ally's through ball and firing past the keeper. Swify then completed a fine first-half hat-trick, again converting a through ball from Matty, and Eddie added a sixth with a low cross-shot from an acute angle. Leading 6-0 at half-time, Nomads were fully in control of the game and continued to attack throughout the second half, although Hotspurs tried to stem the flow of goals by using the offside rule, which frustrated Nomads on several occasions. Hotspurs were also handicapped by injuries to their keeper and his replacement. Nevertheless, Matty completed his hat-trick with a strong shot from the edge of the area and then Ryan added another three goals in quick succession, first with a delicate fre kick, then by converting Swifty's short pass, and finally by shooting home after a defensive mix-up. Benjy then gabbed a couple of goals, first by heading home from Matty's cross and then by intercepting a goal kick and firing past the stranded keeper. In the final stages of the game, positional reshuffles enabled Danny, Rowan, Ally, Jack, Dale and Callum to play in more forward positions and, shortly after Dale had hit the post with a close effort, Luke extended Nomads' lead with a shot from the edge of the box and, with minutes left, Jack clinched Nomads' fourteenth goal from the penalty spot after having been upended in the area. All in all, this was a good performance with much to praise, particularly after a three-week break. Well Done Boys!! Keep Working Hard!! Up the Nomads!!

A fine second-half performance enabled Chester Nomads to extend their winning run over a hard-working Upton side on a heavy pitch at the Garrison Ground. Both sides battled hard to take control of the midfield during the the first half, with neither side quite able to establish a lead. Nomads made several good attacking moves and almost scored on a couple of occasions, and when Upton occasionally broke away Danny intercepted several dangerous crosses. However, Nomads stepped up a gear in the second half and took an early lead when Ryan's cross-shot eluded the Upton keeper at the far post. Miuntes later, Ryan scored again, latching onto a through ball and knocking the ball home. Nomads now began to play well, using the width and length of the pitch more effectively. The defence, marshalled by MOM Ally, pushed forward, with Rowan, Jack, Dec and Dale supporting the midfield, where Eddie, Benjy, Gregor and Luke fought hard to win the ball and supply Swifty, Callum and Ryan with through-balls and crosses. Gregor snatched Nomads' third goal, direct from a corner, Ryan completed a well-deserved hat-trick, turning in Eddie's cross at the far post, and Dale scored Nomads' fifth with a superb chip-shot from the edge of the box which sailed over the Upton keeper into the corner of the net. Match Report By: Roger Swift

A fine display of fast attacking football, with some excellent passing and good finishing, enabled League leaders Chester Nomads to secure a well-deserved victory over a hard-working Shore Villa side at the Garrison Ground. Nomads attacked from the start with some good passing moves and it was no suprise when Matty gave them an early lead with a fine run and shot from just inside the penalty box. Eddie notched the second goal, scoring from close range from Matty's corner, and then Swifty ran onto a through ball and took the ball past the Villa keeper before placing it the net. Leading 3-0 at the interval, Nomads were well in command, with Danny dominating his area, Rowan, Ally, Jack, Nick and Dale composed at the back, and MOM Benjy, Gregor and Luke winning the battle in midfield and moving the ball around well. Minutes into the second half, Ryan scored Nomads' fourth, running through the middle and slotting the ball home, and Dale added a fifth with a neat shot from just inside the box. Villa then tried hard to get back in the game and staged several dangerous breakaways, scoring a deserved consolation goal ten minutes from time, despite Danny's brave attempt to save at the foot of the post. However, this only spurred Nomads forward again, and Callum scored two opportunist goals from the edge of the six-yard box in the last five minutes to seal a 7-1 victory and a fine all-round team performance. Well Done Boys! Up the Nomads!

League leaders Chester Nomads continued their impressive recent form with a well-deserved victory against a hard-working Rossway United side in a game played in cold and windy conditions at Whitby Park. Nomads took the game to United from the start and Ryan, Callum and Gregor all went close before a fine half-volley by Eddie from Luke's cross put Nomads ahead. Minutes later, Eddie scored again, tapping home after Swifty's shot had been parried by the keeper. More goals might have followed before half-time, but for the inspired form of the Rossway goalie, and when United did occasionally break away they found Danny an imposing figure in the Nomads' goal. Leading 2-0 at half-time, and with the wind behind them, Nomads now began to control and dominate the game, playing the ball on the ground and using the width of the pitch more effectively. Rowan, Ally, Jack, Nick and Dale pushed forward, providing a resolute back line, and Benjy, Luke and Swifty began to carve open the Rossway defence with some fine passing from midfield. Callum notched Nomads' third goal, touching in Matty's corner at the far post, MOM Eddie completed his hat-trick with a shot from close range, Matty put Nomads five ahead with a long cross-shot from the left, which deceived the keeper at the far post, and repeated the feat seconds later with an identical effort, and Luke made it 7-0 with a great free kick from just outside the box. By now, the Rossway defence was in a state of seige and, with minutes left, Swifty dribbled round five players in a mazy run before placing a low shot in the corner of the net for Nomads' eighth. As Coach Parker told the boys in his post-match review, this was a praiseworthy performance, especially in the second half. Well Done Boys! Keep working hard! Up the Nomads!

League leaders Chester Nomads completely outclassed an enthusiastic and spirited Rangers side in windy conditions on a heavy pitch at Cheshire Oaks. Eddie provided an early lead, followed by two snap shots from Callum, both from Matty's corners, and a fourth goal from MOM Nick, who scored with a low shot from the edge of the box. More goals might have followed but for some desperate defending by Rangers and some assistance from the woodwork, which denied Nomads on four occasions. Leading 4-0 at half-time, Nomads stepped up a gear in the second half. Playing with greater width and pace, and passing the ball much more effectively, they completely overwhelmed Rangers with sustained attacks, scoring a further twelve goals in the process. Ryan, Luke and Dale each bagged a pair, while both goalie-turned striker Danny (replaced by Jack between the posts) and Swifty completed well-deserved hat-tricks. Nomads might even have scored more but for the bravery of the Rangers keeper, who denied efforts by Rowan, Ally, Gregor and Benjy. But this was a good team effort and a good result on the day. Well Done Boys! Keep working hard!

Match Report By: Roger Swift

Cup-holders Chester Nomads produced a hard-working team performance to defeat a spirited Hoylake side in an exciting first-round cup match played on a bumpy pitch. Nomads attacked from the start and took the lead after five minutes when Ryan flicked Rowan's long throw past the Hoylake keeper. Nomads were now dominating the play and further goals might have followed: Swifty hit the post after running on to a through ball and Eddie shot narrowly wide with a powerful drive from the edge of the box. Then Hoylake snatched a surprise equaliser when their centre-forward intercepted a back pass and shot past Danny, and although Nomads replied with a series of attacks, forcing several corners, the half-time score remained 1-1. However, Nomads continued to attack and took a deserved lead early in the second half when Eddie's cross from the left was converted by Callum at the far post. Nomads were now dominating the play, with MOM Ally controlling the defence, well-supported by Declan, Jack, Nick and Dale, and Benjy, Gregor and Luke getting the upper hand in midfield. A third goal now looked likely and it duly came when Matty's deep cross from the left eluded the Hoylake keeper and was headed in by Callum at the far post. Further goals for Nomads might have followed before the final whistle blew but, all in all, this was a deserved win and a good team performance with some strong individual contributions. Well Done Boys! Keep working hard! Up the Nomads!

League leaders Nomads just edged victory in an exciting and hard-fought game against a well-organised and hard-working New Scene side at the Garrison Ground. During the early stages of the game New Scene dominated the midfield and were dangerous on the break, and although Danny thwarted them with some good saves, New Scene took a deserved lead midway through the half when their centre-forward prodded home from close range. Nomads responded with several counter-attacks and only the New Scene keeper prevented shots from Swifty and Callum forcing an equaliser. A goal down at half-time, Nomads then stepped up a gear in the second half. Eddie, Benjy, Luke, Gregor and Matty began to control the midfield and when New Scene did counter-attack they found Rowan, Declan, Ally, Jack and MOM Dale in resolute form. Pushing forward relentlessly, Nomads secured a deserved equaliser when Ryan latched onto a clearance, outsprinted the defence, and scored a fine goal. The New Scene defence now lived dangerously and two efforts from Swifty and another from Callum were denid by the keeper before Ryan notched his second goal from Matty's pass. But New Scene were still dangerous on the break and Danny made three good saves as the visitors searched for an equaliser. But with seconds left, Luke made the game safe, slotting home at the far post from Eddie's low cross. A very close game, but a good result. Well Done Boys! Keep working hard!

Chester Nomads continued their rich vein of form with another fine attacking performance against a hard-working Neston team at the Garrison Ground. Attacking from the start, and with some particularly good passing down the left wing from MOM Dale, Nomads took the lead with a fine turn and shot from the edge of the box by Ally. Ryan notched the second and third, converting passes from Eddie and Swifty, and shortly before half-time Swifty scored Nomads' fourth, flicking a long cross from Matty past the Neston keeper. Nomads sustained the pressure during the second half, with Danny, Rowan, Jack and Nick composed in defence and the midfield, marshalled by Benjy, and forwards stretching the Neston defence with some good passing and plenty of width. Luke scored Nomads' fifth goal, converting a cross from Eddie, and Swifty notched the sixth, tapping home another centre from Eddie. Luke grabbed his second with a great free kick from just outside the penalty area and, with few minutes remaining, Eddie ran onto a through ball from Swifty and his cross was met at the far post by Callum for Nomads' eighth. Another good team performance. Well Done Boys! Keep working hard!

Nomads put on a fine team performance against a spirited Whitby Rangers side. Attacking from the start, Nomads took an early lead when Callum latched on to a through ball and placed the ball in the corner of the net. Nomads quickly extended their lead with two goals from Swifty, who ran through to convert through balls from Callum, a long strike from Matty, and another fromn Callum, who converted Matty's corner at close range. Just before half-time, Dale scored Nomads sixth goal, lobbing into the net following a rare error by the Whitby keeper, who otherwise had a very good match, defying Nomads' forwards on many occasions. Playing a good passing game, Nomads continued to dominate during the second half and went close on several occasions. Benjy extended the lead with two goals, one from Matty's corner and the other from close range, Ryan converted a pass from Callum, and shortly before the end Ally beat the keeper with a fine shot following a run and pass from Gregor. All in all, a good team effort in which Danny was composed in goal, Rowan, Ally, Jack, Nick and Dale formed resolute defence, Greg, Benjy, Matty and MOM Luke linked well in midfield, and Callum, Swifty and Ryan provided plenty of pace, movement and shots up front. Nomads demolished league leaders Princes Villa with a fine all-round team performance at the Garrison Ground. Attacking from the start, Nomads were denied an early lead by the Villa goalie before a neat move between Dale and Matty set up Ryan for Nomads' first goal. This was soon followed by an opportunist goal from Benjy, who converted a deep corner from Matty, a fine solo effort from Ryan, and a neat header by Jack in a goalmouth scramble following another Matty corner. Villa tried to respond with breakaways and twice went close to reducing the lead but found Nomads'; defence in commanding form. Leading 4-0 at half-time, Nomads sustained the pressure throughout the second half, covering well at the back, dominating the midfield and stretching the Villa defence with strong running and good passing from the forwards. Luke scored his first goal for Nomads with a snap shot, MOM Ryan completed his hat-trick after a mix-up in the Villa defence, and, with seconds left, Swifty converted a rebound off Eddie to clinch Nomads' seventh. An excellent match, played in the right spirit by both sides, and a great team performance from the Nomads side, in which Danny, Rowan, Ally, Nick, Gregor and Callum also played important roles. Well Done, Boys!

Match Report By:Roger Swift

Nomads battled hard against a strong Newton side at County Hall and were unlucky to come away without any points. Playing o a relatively small - and at times congested - pitch, Nomads started well and came close on several occasions following some good passing moves. But Newton always threatened with dangerous breakaways and, following several good saves from Danny, took the lead shortly before half-time when a cross from the left was converted at the far post. Nomads rallied briefly and Matty and Rowan went close with long-range efforts.

In a second half interrupted by injuries to players from both sides, which disturbed the flow of the game, Nomads gradually began to dominate the game. Spurred on from the back by MOM Ally, Nomads pressed forward and Ryan, Callum and Eddie all went close with efforts in the box. However, Newton's back line and goalie were in good form and managed to frustrate Nomads' efforts, especially in a frantic last ten minutes, when shots were blocked and corners were cleared. A disappointing result but still an encouraging performance in which Jack, Nick, Dale, Declan, Liam and Swifty also played their part. Keep working hard, Boys!

Match Report By:Roger Swift

Nomads dominated their first home league game against a spirited Hotspurs side at the Garrison Ground, taking an early lead with an excellent goal from Matty, who beat two players in a mazy run from the halfway line before crashing the ball home from the edge of the penalty area. Swifty notched Nomads' second, prodding the ball home in a goalmouth scramble after several chances, created by dangerous crosses from Matty, had gone begging. Nomads then began to play with greater fluency and a succession of attacks resulted in four further goals - all coming from short passes in the penalty box by Swifty - from Gregor, Callum (two) and Ryan, making his debut. Leading 6-0 at half-time, Nomads were cruising but paid the penalty in the first ten minutes of the second half when Hotspurs rallied with two good breakaway goals and only the crossbar and some brave goalkeeping from Danny denied them a third. But Nomads responded with some really good, fast football and some excellent midfield and forward passing, although several chances again went begging. However, a run and cross from the right from Swifty set up Ryan for his second goal midway through the second half, and five minutes from the end another run and cross from the right - this time from Eddie - enabled Ryan to complete his hat-trick. All in all, a good result and a competent team performance in which Rowan, Ally, Jack, Nick, Dale and Benjy also made positive contributions. Well done boys! Keep working hard!!

Nomads kicked off the league season with a hard-working display against a well-organised and uncompromising Upton side. There were chances at both ends during a close first half, but Nomads gradually built up the pressure and shortly before half-time, after a header from Swifty had been disallowed for offside, Callum broke the deadlock, cleverly diverting the ball into the corner of the net. Nomads continued to attack during the second half, when the defence pushed up, the midfield began to command the centre and the forwards continued to harass and stretch the Upton defence. Further goals from Eddie and Declan made the game safe for Nomads and when Upton did counter-attack they found Danny Cooper in resolute form, commanding the penalty area throughout. Well done boys. Keep working hard!!

Nomads overwhelmed a plucky Buckley side in this pre-season friendly played at the Garrison Ground. Playing with great pace and fluency, Nomads dominated the game from the start and an early strike by Swifty was followed by a hat-trick from Eddie, a pair from Callum and a goal from Ally. By half-time, Buckley were seven goals down and reeling. Nomads continued to dominate during the second half and although Buckley managed to stem the flow of goals, their goalmouth was the setting for some frenetic defending before Benjy Parry notched Nomads' eighth goal. Nomads might have scored more goals but all in all the game provided a useful workout for the team within various formations. Given that the boys had not played together for several months, this really was a promising display of fast attacking football and at times some of the passing was sublime
