Chester Nomads Girls has Lift-off

Chester Nomads is proud to announce that Chester and District Girls have joined the club and will play under the Chester Nomads banner as of September 2019.

Both clubs share a rich history in supporting and developing Junior Football in the Chester area and from the initial discussions it was evident that both clubs held similar core values and principles. That is further demonstrated by the fact that both clubs have independently worked towards and attained the prestigious Chartered Standard by the FA.

Football is the fastest growing participation sport among girls in the UK and according to the FA there are now 1,250 centers across the country where five to 11-year-old females play football, this is already a 42 percent increase in six months.

New figures also show 605 new girls youth teams are registered to play matches this season, bringing the total to 2,766 in Britain. While the amount of adult female clubs has gone up by 32 percent, with 260 new ones kicking off for the 2019/20 season.
The girls join a thriving Junior section which now boasts 35 teams and over 400 5-18-year olds who all enjoy their football across our facilities at Boughton Hall and The Garrison Ground.

Everyone at Chester Nomads would like to welcome all the Chester and District Girls players, coaches and parents to Boughton Hall and we hope you will enjoy the wonderful facilities that your new home has to offer. The amalgamation of the clubs will enable us to share best practice and strengthen the club’s ethos: to create a safe environment for kids to enjoy and prosper in both football and the wider society they grow up in.

If you are interested in getting involved with our Girls section or have a daughter interested in joining please email members@chesternomads.com.
