After a week off the first team were excited to get back into league action after progressing in the cup a few weeks prior.
A few noticeable absentees from the cup game allowed the gaffer to make a couple of changes to the team.
The back 4 consisted of Delgado and Pixie with Louis and Jord Davies at full back.
Midfield 3 of Fennell, Ed Moss and Gannon.
Ryan Wan replaced Manny out wide and Jack Del returned from his holiday to replace Sam Lloyd who was away on his stag. Jord Lee kept his spot wide left.
After home defeat to Capenhurst in the league a few weeks earlier the lads knew what they were up against.
They seemed to start the game slowly and every time Delgado got the ball he managed to shank his pass out of play.
15 minutes gone and a ball over the top of the back 4 saw Dan clumsily foul the Cape striker.
From the resulting free kick Capenhurst struck the woodwork and Nomads managed to clear the rebound.
The game then got a little tasty, a tackle from skipper Ed Moss resulted in the Cape midfielder going head to head with the lad. The ref decided having a word with both was sufficient.
This was then quickly followed by an off the ball altercation between the Cape winger and little Jord Davies. Bloody bully picking on our smallest player.
Nomads managed to get on top of them game and moved the ball round well, then Louis Moss got down the left swung the ball into the box for his brother. All Ed had to do was strike it in but somehow managed to put it straight down the keepers throat from 10 yards out.
With half time approaching and it still 0-0 nomads got a free kick 30 yards out.
Louis took it and delivered the ball on to the head of Chunk who made it 1-0 just before the half.
The lads came out in the second half at a much higher tempo and within minutes a great ball from Jordan Lee into the middle of the box, great first touch from Jack Del allowed him to open up his body and make it 2-0 as he slotted in the bottom corner.
2-0 Nomads ?
The lad who had been bullying Jord Davies in the first half then tried to smash Ed Moss in a horrific tackle which resulted in the lad being sent for an early bath.
With the extra man Nomads kept the ball well and managed to make more chances but didn’t really put the game to bed.
Cossins, Carew and Lodge all came off the bench and put in some excellent second half performances.
With 10 minutes to go, birthday boy Carew plucked the ball out the sky, rolled it to Josh Gannon who found the top bin from 25 yards out.
With other results going their way Nomads leapfrogged to the top of the table come Saturday evening ???
