18/10/25 Round Up

1sts

Always going to be a tough game with so many key players missing. Very scrappy game won by a scrappy goal. Credit to Mossley Hill, very good young team.

MOM Chris Rowntree, best player on the pitch despite the defeat

Reserves

The 2s are up and running 👀 We won 4-0 away at Mossley Hill Reserves to go off the bottom of the table.

3-0 up at half time through Macaulay Salter, and own goal and Filip Wojcik on his debut.

Weathered some pressure from the hosts in the second half, but sealed it with a fourth with the last kick of the game from Nick Crouch.

3rds

No game

4ths (may need some work!)

We got beat 3-1 away at Great Sutton. Alfie Bain had a cracking game in goal,

lots of positives to take from the game, shout out to @Phil "Geordie" Walker for stepping up for us today 👍🏻

Vets

Vets won a scrappy game 1-0 v Eastham. The three Andrews (Simon, Danny & James) brothers all started, with keeper James setting up Danny with a long pass which was chipped into the net for the only goal. Everyone had to dig in late on to keep a clean sheet to move us up to mid table obscurity.

6ths

The 6ths had a superb win in the Eric Dean trophy competition beating Rossett Vets 6-3 at Boughton Hall. Scored the first goal of the game through Simon but trailed at the break 1-3.

James Hibbert: One of three players to grab a brace

Second half was a magnificent display of composed football scoring 5 without reply. 2 goals each for Simon , Marek and Hibb. Some great performances today especially from our No.1 volunteer Richy Hale with some excellent saves and exquisite footwork to keep us in the game 🧡

Masters

Masters beaten 4-2 by Essemay in the Legends cup. Went in 1-0 down at half time to an absolute worldie effort from 35 yards into the top corner.

Got back into the game in the second half to make it 2-1 through Gossie but then Essemay grabbed another two to make it 4-1.

A paneka penalty from Musti salvaged some pride for the Masters

In the last minute we got a penalty for a handball which Musti stepped up and converted with a panenka finish for the game to finish 4-2 to Essemay.

A disappointing result which is indicative of our stop start run of games so far this season.
