First Team Secures First Win with Thrilling Comeback
Firsts finally up and running with the first win of the season against the league winners of last season Helsby.
2-0 down with 40 mins to play a managerial masterclass of going 4-4 F’in 2 meant 10 minutes later we were 4-2 up. A late Kyle Smyth penalty made it 5-2.

Thrilling Draw at Elton: Unbeaten Streak Continues for Thirds
Thirds travelled to Elton after a very respectable start to the season.
A scrappy game on a narrow pitch which stopped us getting into any sort of flow at any point.
0-0 at half time, we started the second half more positively, taking the lead through a James Lloyd flick at the front post. Elton soon hit back with a rocket of a free kick on the edge of the box
James Lloyd strikes again through a bit of skill and tidy finish to put us back in front.
We thought the game was done, but with 1 minute to go, a freak goal from a misplaced goal kick saw Elton steal a point out of the blue. Full time 2-2.
Disappointed to not get all 3 points but we remain unbeaten after 3 games, so lots of positives to take going forward.

Spirited Comeback Falls Short Against Cestrian Alex
Chester Nomads Development 2-3 Cestrian Alex
Chester Nomads Development suffered their first defeat of the CWFL Championship campaign, going down to Cestrian Alex at the Garrison, despite another spirited comeback.
The Devs started slow and were punished ruthlessly, conceding three poor goals to find themselves 3-0 down at half-time with a lot to do.
After the break, Nomads came out fighting and were given a golden opportunity to get back into the game from the penalty spot, but after a retake a superb save from the Cestrian goalkeeper denied what looked like a route back into the game.
That save proved to be one of many, as the Cestrian keeper produced a string of first-class saves throughout the second half, putting in an inspired display to repeatedly deny Nomads.
The Devs finally got their reward for the effort with 20 minutes remaining when Richard Birtwhistle reacted quickest to a rebound after another point-blank save, volleying home to make it 3-1.
Seven minutes later, a drilled Bobby Bain free-kick was met by Dan Burns with a delightful flick at the near post, giving the goalkeeper no chance and reducing the deficit to just one.
With just over 10 minutes left, Nomads threw everything forward, committing men to the attack in search of an equaliser. Despite another huge effort and plenty of pressure, Cestrian held on to take all three points.
Vets
Resilient Comeback and Team Effort in Queens Park Friendly
Vets went to Queens Park for a friendly. We were 3-0 down after 15 minutes! After that we sorted out our structure and were the better side and had multiple chances to score including a header from 1 yard out and a missed penalty!
Positives were a new kit, everyone getting minutes in their legs and 6ths and Masters players helping us out again.
