First Team Monthly Update from Joe Cossins

Results Overview

This month, Chester Nomads played a total of 7 matches, delivering some impressive performances. Our team showed resilience and determination, securing 4 wins out of the 7 matches. Here’s a brief recap:

- Played 7 ; Wins 4 ; Losses 3

Words from Joe Cossins, Chester Nomads Manager:

"The month as a whole has been positive, with a lot of new faces within the first team, and I'm sure things will get better as the season goes on. The disappointing opening day result against Ellesmere Port was a big low point for us, but 4 wins and 3 losses, with one of those losses against a very good Newton team, show that we've improved over the past year. Hopefully, we can kick on now as the team is becoming more of a unit, and the bond is growing with each game we play."

Player of the Month: Rich Tomassen

A special congratulations to *Rich Tomassen* for being named *Player of the Month*! Rich has been an outstanding presence on the pitch, showcasing not just his skill but also his leadership and sportsmanship. His contributions have been instrumental in our successes this month.

Words from the Gaffer about Rich Tomassen:

"This lad hasn't kicked a ball in years and has been absolutely brilliant for us. Playing out of position and getting a clean sheet against Heswall to scoring 2 goals in 6 appearances—this lad will be a massive player for us this season."

Farewell to Sam Pickering, 1st Team Club Captain

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the departure of our 1st Team Club Captain, *Sam Pickering*. Sam is leaving Chester Nomads to embark on an exciting journey of traveling. As our captain, Sam has been a pillar of strength and inspiration, leading the team with passion and dedication. His leadership will be greatly missed both on and off the field. We wish Sam all the best in his travels and look forward to seeing him back in the future.

A Message from the Manager for Sam:

Good luck to my captain on his move abroad for the next few months. Sam followed me from Flint Mountain, and we were so lucky to have him. He's a great player and a huge part of the changing room. Any club at our level would miss a player like Sam. We hope he comes back safe and gets his boots back on for the second part of the season.

Exciting News: Sponsorship Deal with Yelir

We are thrilled to announce that Chester Nomads has secured a new sponsorship deal with *Yelir* for our 1st team, generously gifted to us by Club Legend *Joe Johnson*! This incredible partnership includes a brand new away strip and stylish new tracksuits for the team. Joe's continued support and dedication to the club have been invaluable, and this latest contribution will ensure that Chester Nomads not only plays well but looks sharp too. A huge thank you to Joe and Yelir for their ongoing support!

Looking Ahead

With momentum on our side and the support of our new sponsor, we’re looking forward to another successful month. Let’s continue to train hard, support each other, and keep the Chester Nomads spirit alive!

Stay tuned for more updates next month. Go Nomads!
