Thrilling Victory: First Team Shows Resilience in 5–4 Win
A really positive performance overall and an important three points, although we made hard work of it in the end.
The lads were excellent for long spells, particularly in the first half, controlling possession and taking the work from training into the game. There was some really good football played, with calm build-up, good movement and quality in the final third.
Sixteen-year-old Cam Broady was outstanding in midfield, winning the ball back, using it well and getting himself on the scoresheet. Ben Coward was a real threat throughout, scoring twice, while Cam Clarke and Ellis Cooke also found the net.
After building a 5–1 lead, we allowed Cape a strong 10-minute spell where they scored three goals to make it a nervy finish. The lads regrouped, showed character and saw the game out for a 5–4 win.

Dominant Victory Maintains Thirds' Unbeaten Run Against Farndon
A comfortable 3-0 win for the Thirds against Farndon.
A dominant performance from start to finish saw Nomads head into the break 3-0 up, with goals from Tim Ashbrook, Trey Lattie and Shaun Shrigley.
The second half brought plenty of chances and sustained pressure from Nomads, but despite our persistence, we couldn’t find the back of the net again.
With the game comfortably under control, we were able to make a number of changes and give valuable minutes to players across the squad, helping to build fitness and maintain sharpness.
Credit to Farndon, who battled throughout, but they struggled to create many clear-cut opportunities and the result never really looked in doubt.
A strong all-round performance and, most importantly, the Thirds’ unbeaten run continues!
A Tough Encounter For Vets Against Birkenhead
Entering a Division 1 match with just 12 players and no recognized goalkeeper was not ideal for our veterans' team against the formidable Birkenhead side. Despite this, the team showed spirit and resilience throughout the game. They faced a well-organized Birkenhead squad and struggled to connect effectively in the final third, missing opportunities to break through the defence.
Jamie, typically a left winger, stepped in as goalkeeper and made crucial saves, demonstrating adaptability and determination. Matty Woodward impressed on his debut, playing in four different positions and adding depth to the squad.
Despite their efforts, the team lost 3-0. However, they remain optimistic, focusing on improving their attacking play. With two weeks to refine strategies before facing Blacon, the team is determined to bounce back and secure a better result.
Masters' Rollercoaster Season Opener Ends in Defeat Against Orange Athletic
Master started the season with a home game at the Garrison against Orange Athletic
With 16 players at his disposal including two returning forwards in Jon and Marcus things were looking good for manager Baino
With only 4 minutes on the clock the Orange defence was breached, a great through ball from Schuey and Jon Roberts was in on goal. Like an Oasis reunion everyone was excited and knew what was coming next, Jon slotted home and the sidelines were in a champagne supernova. Masters continued to dominate but the score remained 1-0 at the break.
Half time team talk was ‘games in the bag, just don’t get injured and enjoy the second half’……… Within 10 minutes it was all level, Orange grabbed the equaliser but no panic in the team. With 15 minutes to go Orange were 3-1 up, a couple of calamities at the back and we were all holding our head in our hands.
Jon Roberts managed to pull one back to give us hope in the last 10 minutes but alas the game was gone.
