Friday night saw the club host its first ever Presidents Game at Boughton Hall.

As this was our first year we wanted to use the opportunity to recognise our President Bob Delgado. In recognition of everything he has done for the club we have renamed the 1st team pitch the Bob Delgado Playing Field.

The game saw two teams captained by Bob’s two sons Jack and Dan. With both teams comprising of current players and a few dragging themselves out of retirement made for a game played in a fantastic spirit with a fine level of skill on show. With only 1 goal in a tight first half from a Jack Delgado Penalty the teams went in with Jack's Blues on top.
At half time the crowd gathered round to hear Steve Smith say a few words about Bob and everything he has done for the club over the years

The second half started with a few retirees added to the mix, this coupled with the summer evening sun meant that the game started to open up. Goals by George Jones (Blues) and Cam Clark (Ambers) made it 2-1 to Jack's team until with only minutes left on the clock Cam Clark nabbed his second goal to bring the match to a 2-2 draw. To penalties we go….
With a few great penalties and a couple of misses it was down to Dan Delgado to keep his team in it. With Tom Evans making himself smaller with every penalty Dan stepped up and blazed his effort over the bar, victory belonged to Jacks blue team.
Off to the marquee we went for hot chips and cold refreshments and celebrated what this was all about, not being a part of a team but being part of a club. It was fantastic to see so many players and former players bringing along their wives and children and enjoying themselves alongside not just teammates but friends.
Huge thanks must go to Joe Cossins & Phil Tucker for all their work in organising this game.
Thank you all for attending and supporting our club. This match was in honour of Bob Delgado our president and in partnership with Dementia UK.
