Chairman Chris Bain on the First Teams impending Cup Final
What a season this has been for Joe and the team. An incredibly tough start to the season left us all thinking we were heading for a relegation dogfight, and yet here we are at the tail end of the season in the cup final and 4th in the table!
What Joe has accomplished this season cannot be overstated, whilst Joe has an incredible squad of players he’s got them fighting at the top of the table against teams who are paying players just for being in the squad.
This cup final is incredibly well deserved for every single player involved. The togetherness that they have is fantastic to watch and we all hope they can take this last step to win the trophy.
I’m encouraging everyone to get along to Vauxhall on Friday night to support the team. It would be great to see a wall of Amber cheering the lads on.
Manager Joe Cossins looks forward to the Cup Final:
Absolutely huge game for the club, the team and me and Jay, and it’s only what our group of players deserve to be playing in after another very very good season.
Preparation couldn’t have been better the last week, playing 3 of the top 4, winning 2, drawing 1 and conceding just 1 goal, and more importantly no injuries.
It’s going to be a tough game against Heswall who’s league position doesn’t reflect their ability, having already beat us twice this season we know it’s going to be a tough game and they will be ready for a battle.
Hopefully we can win the battle, and finally get some silverware over the line, as we’ve come short in last two seasons and this group of players is too good not to be winning trophies. Massive selection headache for myself and Jay but hopefully come Friday night we will be lifting a trophy no Chester team has lifted for 30+ years!
